Day Three Hundred and Ninety Four

Miss Pancake   

When I looked out my window this morning there was not a bit of snow anywhere. Too bad.

And after Zita had her fluffy coffee and we had our breakfast thr fast car took us to our farm.

We were so early I saw the moon. Ha.

There was not any snow there either. Oh well.

But Zita had to wear toasty warm clothes. Because it was too cold outside.

But I was all warm. Because I am very furry. 

So we ran fast to keep warm. That was a good idea. 

And I found my favourite stick again. Ha.

But when it was time to go home I could not bring my own stick.

So I would not get in the car. Ha.

But then I did. Oh well.

When we got home it was a back to work day for everybody except for Craig.

He had a sleep in this morning and I kept him company until it was time to get all dressed. 

Then I went to be Zita’s best helper.

We drove Niamh to her shop this morning. 

Because it was too cold to ride on her bicycle. 

After my lunch I went back into our office to have a nice relax.

At our lunchtime Zita and I made our pumpkin. We will put it outside.

Because tonight is when all the little children wear scary costumes so we will give them candy. Ha.

We always have this day. Because it tells everybody that summer is all over.

That is why we had snow yesterday. Because summer is over. Oh well. 

Craig told me our pumpkin will scare all the Sidhe away. I did not know we had any of those. 

Emmet said they all lived in the ground underneath Ireland with Emmet’s best friend Mister Cernach. 

Mister Cernach has a giant dog that is nearly a horse. Oh my. 

He can even ride it. 

Maybe he will take his friend Emmet on a ride too. Maybe. 

When all our work was over Zita and I went to our farm, for our before dinnertime exercises.

She wore her warm clothes again. 

And we had a lovely time. But I could not find my stick. 

But we could not stay so long because of the lots children coming to our house.

When we put our pumpkin outside we put a candle inside so it will be very scary. Ha.

When all the children go home we will watch our detective program before we go to bed. 

Day Three Hundred and Ninety Three

Miss Pancake   

We got up a bit early today.

Because of the Irish clocks.

And when I went outside there was snow everywhere. 

Oh my goodness me. 

Snow is my favourite. 

Even the fast car was all covered too.

So after I had a very little breakfast it took us to the farm.

And the farm was covered in snow too. Ha.

And I had the best run all around ever. 

When I was very very little, before I had my very own family, there was lots and lots of snow where I lived.

So I like snow. 

When we got home Craig was all dressed and Zita made coffee and round toasts for everybody.

And I had the rest of my breakfast. And a bit of Craig’s toast too. 

Then I helped Zita take all the too old food out of the refrigerator, so Craig could not poison us. Ha.

Then I had my morning nap. 

After lunchtime Zita and the fast car went to do her important errands.

I stayed here so I could mind Craig. And after a little nap I had my second lunch.

When Zita came home she had ghost to put on our house. But they were not so very scary. 

And then Niamh and Miss Emily started to write letters about new jobs. 

Then we had that shepherd’s pie for our everybody here dinner.

Then Craig and Zita went to watch their detective program.

I stayed in the living room to mind Niamh and Miss Emily.

Then we went to bed. 

Day Three Hundred and Ninety Two

Miss Pancake    

Niamh and I only had a little sleep in this morning.

Because we were very busy making the house all neat and tidy. 

Because an aeroplane brought my friend Zita back home to our house. 

When she got on the aeroplane it was still dark in Ireland. My goodness me.

Because Ireland is very far away. 

And all their clocks are different, so they have different times over there. I do not know why. 

Niamh found the noisy machine so I went in the big bedroom and helped Craig get dressed.

And then he helped me to clean the house too.

Then it was time for Niamh and I to go for a nice run all around at our farm.   

And I found where all the best sticks in the world live.

But they were too big to take in the car. So Niamh said we could find them another day.

When we got home it was time for my own lunch.

And it was time for Niamh to go and have tasty treats with Sach. 

I minded Craig. And had a nice nap. 

And when the fast car came home it was full of Zita and Niamh. 

And I was very very happy. 

And I gave Zita lots and lots of kisses. Ha.

And she brought back some Irish treats. 

Even Irish chips for Niamh. And she gave me one. 

And Craig got a very giant chocolate bar. From Zita’s own mother.

And Niamh got a beautiful old top of a dress. Auntie Eileen found it for her. 

And my friend Emmet found the train that went to Dublin. 

So they could have a very delicious lunch time with everybody. 

And our cousins too.

Then Zita and Auntie Eileen took Emmet to the train station. 

So they could get home to his own comfy bed.

Before dinnertime Zita and I took Niamh to see her friends. 

I stuck my head outside. And my ears flapped. Ha. 

And we went to the get some gas station, so the fast car would still be very fast. 

Craig and Zita had their dinner early because Zita still had the different times. Oh well 

Then we watched the detective program that we were watching before.

Then it was our bedtime and now Zita will be in the big bed. Ha.

Me too. Ha.

Day Three Hundred and Ninety One

Miss Pancake    

I stayed up until very late last night because I was minding my friend Lee.

But when Niamh got home I was still not even a bit fast asleep. 

So Niamh and I had a sleep in this morning.

So she had to be very quick getting dressed so she would not be late.

But she was so busy that she forgot it was my breakfast time. 

And when she went to her shop I did not have my breakfast.

Craig did not have a sleep in today. Because he had a not so nice headache. 

I tried to tell him that I had not had my breakfast but he thought I wanted to go into my yard. 

So we went outside three times. Oh well. 

He had a roll up for his breakfast and I got a crunchy bit. 

But I still tried to tell him about my not even a little bit of breakfast. 

And then he asked if I wanted a very early lunch and I was very happy.

So I got a very big early lunchtime. Ha. 

Then I was not starving all away. 

Then he asked Niamh if she had breakfast with me. 

And she told him that she had just forgotten because she was so tired. 

And she told me she was very sorry. On Craig’s flat computer. 

When I was a bit all full up I looked out my window and just like that all the leaves had fallen off Zita’s beautiful tree. 

So now it was empty. Oh dear. Soon all the trees will be empty. 

Then every thing will be white. Because of the lots of snow. 

But I am very good snow runner. Ha.

I did it last year.  Everybody saw me. 

Craig and I had a very quiet afternoon because the nasty headache would not go away.

So we were very quiet together. 

When Niamh got home it was nearly all dark. 

Because when all the leafs are gone the sunshine stops even before dinnertime. I do not know why.

Craig went to bed early tonight because of the headache.

So I had to mind Niamh and the house all by myself. That is an important job. 

Niamh and I went to bed early too.

Because we did not have lots of sleep last night. Oh well. 

Day Three Hundred and Ninety

Miss Pancake    

After Niamh and I had our breakfasts we did not go to the farm right away. 

Because she had to finish her special costume for the scary party tonight. 

So I minded her under the dining room table again. 

Then she went downstairs so I ran right into the bedroom to help Craig get all dressed. 

He says it takes a long time to get dressed when I am his best helper. I do not know why. He is just slow. 

But as soon as he was all dressed Niamh came upstairs and it was time to go to our farm.

So the fast car was already too, so we were there nearly right away.

And because it was only Niamh and me there today I could run as fast as could be. 

And Niamh ran with me.

We are very fast runners. It is known.

When we got home Niamh had to go to her shop right away. So she would not be late.

But as soon as she left the round toasts were all toasty so Craig put lots of jam on top.

And then he made his coffee. 

Because you cannot have toasty treats without your coffee. It is our rule. ready

When he was having his next coffee I looked out my watching window. 

So I could mind our own house.

I am very busy now a days because Festis and Furrgus are still very busy being dangerous, so I have lots of minding to do. 

When I went into the big bedroom in the middle of the night Zita was still not there. 

I forgot that she was in far away for a long time. 

And she is still there. Oh well. 

When I started my first lunch it was as sunny as could be, but when I was finished it was raining again. 

So I had a very quiet afternoon and just minded Craig. 

And had a nice all afternoon relax. 

Before my bedtime my friend Lee came to visit me. 

And stayed to keep me company until Niamh got home from the scary party.

Lee told me stories all about digging in a very big hole and looking for very old interesting things.

And there were even pictures. 

And everything was in the basement. 

And they were not even here. They were in Italy. 

Tortellinis come from Italy too. 

And those houses did not have any roofs. 

Maybe that was what Lee was looking for. Maybe.

A man came on a bicycle and brought us some too hot soup from far far away China, and some of the very delicious all rolled ups. 

And that is what Craig had for dinner.  I helped him when he was finished.

Then we watch the television in the den, until my friend Lee came here. 

And Craig went to bed so I could mind Lee. 

Day Three Hundred and Eighty Nine

Miss Pancake   

It was another not so very sunny day today. 

But Niamh and I got up anyway.

Because she did not have to go to the lovely shop today. 

When Niamh went downstairs to get dressed I went down the scary stairs too. 

For the first time. Ha.

And she did not even see me until I jumped right on to her big comfy bed. Ha. 

And Tarryn did not have to go to work either. So she came here for a visit. 

So we all got in the fast car and went to our farm for a long time run around. That was a good idea.

Before we went to the farm I went into the big bedroom and got Craig all awake. Ha.

My friend Mister Opé was there too, so we went for a together walk. 

Then we went home.

Because Niamh and Tarryn had to make their costumes for the scary night. My goodness.

And I had to have my lunch.

My friend Zita is still in far away Ireland. 

Yesterday she stayed with her sister. So she could have dinner with our cousins.

My goodness. She is very busy. 

Today she went for an adventure ride with her parents. 

And Zita drove their car. My goodness.

And they found a sheep. 

My goodness. Maybe it was the sheep that was lost. Oh dear. 

Maybe she will see my friend Emmet. 

Because she brought him lots of stuff in her suitcase. 

Even secret happy birthday presents. My goodness.

This afternoon there were lots of men on my street. 

And they had a giant noisy machine. 

And they made very big holes. Right in front of my house.

I barked and barked and everybody said that was too much barking.

But then they looked out my window and they were very surprised. Ha. Good for me. 

People do not have very good ears. Too bad for them. 

Then Craig came to help me look out my watching window. 

Because we are all the time friends. Good for us. 

When Niamh and Tarryn came back I helped them make their beautiful costumes.

I was a very big help today. That is my always favourite job. It is known.

Niamh was not home for dinner tonight.

Because she and her friends went to visit a museum to see very interesting things. 

So Craig had a big bunch of the way too much from India food that was in the refrigerator.

With some of the very crunch thin bread. 

It is an Indian bread and you cannot make peanut butter sandwiches with it. Oh well. 

Craig took a picture so Zita would know I reminded him to have his dinner. 

Then Craig watched the hockey game and the football game at the same time. 

I had a nice nap in the hall, or sometimes on the sofa. Until I got too hot.

Then when Niamh got home Craig went to bed.

But I stayed awake so I could keep her company until the other bedtime. 

Day Three Hundred and Eight Eight

Miss Pancake     

I was up very late minding all our guests. 

Craig just went to bed, so I had to mind everybody by myself. Ha.

I slept with Niamh again, because Zita is still far away. 

So every so often I have to go into our bedroom and make sure Craig is still all alive. 

Because he is a bit very old. That is an easy job. 

After Niamh and I had our breakfasts we got in the fast car and went to our farm.

And when we got there we saw Mister Holden and his brand new dog Mister Obé.

Mister Obé is not so big, because he is a little puppy. 

And we played for a while and I was very polite.

But I was a faster runner so I had to not run so fast. 

But we had a very good time, because we were at our farm together. Ha.

It was not such a beautiful day today. 

There was not even a bit of sunshine anywhere, just some rain.

When we got home Niamh had to get dressed very fast because it was time to go to her shop. 

And then Craig and I had two round toasts with lots of brand new jam from France. Ha. 

Then I had my morning nap. 

Because I ran around a whole lot this morning. 

But after Craig made himself neat and tidy it was time for my first lunchtime. 

And when I finished I went outside and had a very nice nap, right on the cold stones. 

Then I heard Craig starting to make his lunch so I came in to be his helper.

Because when Zita is away it is my job to make sure he does not forget to eat.

 Zita told me that was my important job. So was right there to remind him. 

We had a toasty muffin. With lots of butter. 

Today Zita and Auntie Eileen went out for a delicious lunch. 

In a very very old restaurant. 

In a little town. In far away Ireland.

And it did not even have a ceiling. It only had a roof. My goodness.

Niamh came home early so we could go for a little walk before she went to drink wines with her girlfriends.

So Craig had a nice dinner by himself. 

He did not cook it. 

He just put it in the fast cooker machine and just like that it was all cooked. Ha. 

Then Craig and I had a long relax in the living room. I minded him while he read his book.

Then it was time for Craig’s bedtime, so I minded him until Niamh got home. 

Miss Sach brought her back home in the noisy Jeep. 

But I did not hear it.

Because I was fast asleep. Oh well. 

Then it was my bed time too. 

Day Three Hundred and Eighty Seven

Miss Pancake  

I had a very nice sleep on Niamh’s bed. 

But I had to go into my bedroom to make sure that Craig was all right too. 

He was. 

After I had my breakfast Tarryn and Miss Dina came here. 

So all of us went to my farm this morning. 

It was not such a very nice day but we ran all around a lot anyway.

And when we got home I had very very dirty feet. So I had to have a little bath.

Then all the ladies went to the beautiful shop.

Because that is where they all work.

Then Craig and I had two toasty croissants with jam, for our other breakfast. 

Then I had my morning nap. 

And when I woke up it was my lunchtime. Craig told me. 

Then we went outside for a bit, but it was a bit rainy so we went back inside where it was all dry.

I got a birthday present from my friends Festis and Furrgus. 

It was a little little birthday cake just for dogs. My goodness. That was very nice of them.

Colonel Dugal said the box was stamped Kyrgyzstan of all places. 

The Colonel told me that it is as far away from the centre of nowhere as is possible. My goodness. 

They still must be spies I think. 

But Colonel Dugal is a bit worried, because he said nobody should trust my6. 

My goodness. 

We had a very quiet afternoon today. It was a Craig and Pancake day.

But tonight we are having a dinner party with some of Niamh’s friends. So I will be very very busy. 

Because I have to mind everybody. 

And we are going to have the very tasty from India food. From the nice restaurant right up the street. 

Maybe we will have some of the squishy bread. That is my favourite. 

My friend Zita is still in far away Ireland, and she and her mother went for even more tasty treats.

But tonight she is going to sleep in Auntie Eileen’s house. 

Mister Sulley lives there too. 

So he can mind everybody over there tonight. 

Because I have to mind everybody here tonight. My goodness. 

We are very busy dogs. 

My friend Sach came for dinner tonight. My goodness me, 

She always chases me. But she cannot catch me. I am too fast. Ha.

Day Three Hundred and Eighty Six

Miss Pancake     

I did not sleep in the big bed last night.

Because I slept on the other bed in our office, with my friend Niamh. 

But I did not go to sleep right away because everything was not the same. And I like the same. 

And Zita was not here either, because she is in Ireland. 

When we were awake Niamh and I had our breakfasts and then we had a relax in the living room. 

Craig had a relax in the den. 

Then Tarryn came to visit us and we went on an adventure ride to our farm. 

And when we got there I found a giant stick. Ha.

And then I ran as fast as could be. With my stick.

And when we got too tired the fast car took us to the just for dogs store. 

And they gave me a special treat. Because yesterday was my own birthday. Ha.

And I got a birthday present. A brand new bouncy ball. Ha.

When we got home it was past my lunchtime but Craig had my lunch already for me. 

Because he is my friend.  

Niamh and Tarryn had the tasty tortellini soup. 

Craig had a very fat muffin in the den. 

Yesterday Zita found a bus to take her from the aeroport to where her father was waiting for her. 

And she saw a very very old boat. Right there in the water.

Maybe it was a pirate boat. Maybe.  

Emmet has a cannon underneath their comfy basement bed. 

Incase pirates ever come to my pond. Ha. 

And our friends the Badgers have very pointy swords. Too bad for those pirates.  

Zita took her mother out for tasty treats today. 

And after she had her treats she could even hear better. 

My goodness those were very good treats. I do not think we have those kind of treats here. 

After lunch Niamh and Tarryn went shopping, because in a while it will be the scary night when all the children come to our house. 

And we give them candies. 

And they are all dressed up. 

And some of them are scary.

But my friend Poppy told me not to be afraid.  

Because they are just little children and she was always glad to see them. My goodness. 

I will be very brave. 

Then when Niamh and Tarryn got home they had to make everything neat and tidy.

Because tomorrow we are having some secret guests for dinner. 

Maybe we will have cheese. Maybe. There is still lots in the refrigerator. I saw them. 

When Niamh and Tarryn were all gone Craig came in the living room to help me look out the windows.

Because we are friends.

It is very hard being in charge when everything is different. 

And Zita is not here to tell me things. Poppy said she was not in charge until she was older. 

I am not that old yet, so I will just forget that I am in charge. Nobody will know. Ha. 

Niamh and Tarryn did not get home until after my both dinnertimes.

Because they went everywhere in the world to find scary clothes. But they could not find any.

So now they have to make them themselves. 

So they bought two bags full of things. 

But then we had pastas and cheese. 

And when they went downstairs to make everything tidy I minded Craig in the den.

Before he went to bed.

When Zita is not here I cannot go to bed until Niamh’s bedtime. And that is very late. Oh my goodness me. 

Day Three Hundred and Eighty Five

Miss Pancake    

We got up very early again today.

Because we were very busy today.

Because this afternoon Zita had to go to our aeroport and find that aeroplane that can find Toronto.

Because that is where the other aeroplane that always remembers where Ireland is lives.

Because today Zita went to Ireland to visit her mother and father .

And she is going to see my friends Emmet and Alice too. 

And she took secret birthday presents for them too. Ha. 

And today is my birthday too. Oh my goodness gracious me.

Today I am one year old. 

Maybe I will get a secret present.

Because I have been the very best dog all year. Ha. 

After we had our breakfast and Zita had her coffee we went to our farm. 

It was still a bit rainy, but we did not mind. 

Because we are not made of sugar. Zita told me so. Ha. 

We had a very good time at the farm.

And I found my favourite beautiful tree again. Ha.

And I found a brand new hill of very smelly dirt. 

That was lots of fun for my nose.

But when we got home I was very dirty again.

So I had to have another bath again. Oh well.

When I was all dry as could be Craig was all dressed.

So Zita made everybody more coffees and toasty croissants. 

Then she went to the grocery store to get easy food for Craig. 

So he will not starve when she is in Ireland. That is a good idea. 

When she got home Zita and I went to get Niamh.

So she could borrow the fast car and look at the beautiful trees in the giant park. 

After my first lunchtime a car came to bring Zita to our aeroport. 

It was not our fast car. I did not like that. 

My friend Miss Poppy told me that when Zita is in way far away Ireland I am in charge.

Because she was always in charge when she was my family’s best minder dog. My goodness me.

She told me so. Ha.

Zita found the right aeroplane that can go to Toronto even in the rain.

This afternoon Craig watched some football games so I had a very lovely nap in my comfy chair 

And after my first dinner Craig made very special croissant sandwiches. 

They were special because there was no peanut butter on them.

There was lots very tasty ham from Italy and lots of cheese instead. Ha.

I got a big piece of cheese in my own bowl.

And he sang the happy birthday song to me.

Because it is my birthday today. 

Day Three Hundred and Eighty Four

Miss Pancake   

It rained a lot last night when I was fast asleep. 

And we got up very early this morning because we have a lot to do today.

So after our breakfast we went right to the farm. And it was still a bit rainy.

But our fast car has fingers that move so you can still see out the window and not run into a tree. That is a good idea.

And when we got there I found all the puddles in the world. 

And even muddy puddles and I jumped in all of them. Ha. 

But I got a bit soggy and very very muddy.

So when we got home I had a little bath, until I was as clean as could be.

Then Zita found that clean the floor machine. Oh well.

I got Craig all awake so he would not miss his old friends breakfast. That is my favourite job.

And I helped him with his croissant, and I saw all his friends and they said good morning to me too. That was nice.

So they talked about all the silly people in the world. 

But that was not so interesting so I went into the living room for a nap. 

Then I helped Zita with all the very clean clothes. 

This afternoon Zita and Niamh went to say goodbye to their friend Miss Ginny. 

She used to live beside us. 

Then lots of people are going to that house for some treats and to remember Miss Ginny. 

Zita made some very delicious hot cheese treats for the party. 

We could not have any because we were not there. Oh well. 

Last night we were very very busy.

Because we brought up the sometimes a bed into our office. 

So Niamh can keep me company when Zita goes away to Ireland. That is a good idea. 

But when they were bringing it upstairs Craig tricked me with some very tasty treats, so I could not help them. Oh well. 

When Zita and Niamh were gone Craig was in the den watching the hockey game.

So I minded him from the hall. 

Hockey games are not very interesting.

And Craig’s team lost. Oh well. 

But Craig and I had two more croissants, but this time they were toasty with lots of jam. Ha. 

Zita came home, but only to make that cheese toasty warm. Then she and Susan went next door. 

They took the cheese with them. Oh well. 

Everybody was there. 

Except Craig because of the lots of steps. So I stayed here and minded home.

When Zita came home she brought a big plate of delicious treats, lots of different cheeses and Italian meats. My goodness.

And a giant bowl of chilli too. All for Craig’s dinner. 

I got some cheese.

They had nearly every bit of food ever, everywhere. 

And boxes and boxes of desserts. 

Niamh stayed there for a while to help them eat the desserts and the lots of wine. That is a good job. 

Then Niamh came home she and Zita made the bedroom all perfect for Niamh and me. 

Now our bed is right beside the little refrigerator.

So Niamh can get her ice cream and not even have to get out of bed. Ha. 

When everything was perfect we drove Niamh to her friends house before we watched our detectives program. 

Then we went to bed.
