Day Three Hundred and Sixty Eight

Miss Pancake

Oh my goodness what a morning we had.

Last night, in the middle of the night I woke right up.

Because I heard a dog barking. My goodness.

But it was Miss Poppy. She was barking from far away at my friend Emmet.

Because today Emmet finished his giant story for his university.

Miss Poppy used to listen to Emmet read that story out loud. She was very happy today.

And when we were awake Zita was so very happy she did not go to work right away.

We went to our farm instead, so we could have a quick relax.

Emmet sent us a picture.

And he is holding his giant story. My goodness me.

And it is all about those long long time ago Irish heroes, even Mister CĂș Chulainn and Mister Connal Cernach. Ha.

They will be very happy Emmet did not forget them.

And Miss Tara sent Emmet and Alice a bottle of champagne.

Right to them in Cork. So they can celebrate. That was very nice.

When Zita and I got home Niamh was all dressed, but I had to have a little bath before she could drive Zita downtown.

So after Zita and Niamh left it was my job to mind Craig. He was very happy too.

He got me the rest of my breakfast.

We were so excited about the story I did not have all my breakfast. My goodness.

Then when he made his coffee he made a peanut butter toast for us. Ha.

Then it was time for me to have my before lunchtime nap.

It was such a nice day today I had my after lunchtime nap in my side yard.

Because it was not too hot today.

Festis and Furrgus and Dugal

Well if you cannot stretch the rules of such a propitious event as our Emmet submitting his thesis then we shall ignore the rules.

The Official Secrets Act be twice damned.

What a culmination to all those years of studious focus.

Three cheers and a tiger from all the Blackthorn-Badgers worldwide.

We were all brought to tears when we saw the dedication.

He will be so very pleased.

Once again proving the adage wrong; as good deeds do transcend life itself.

And that scoundrel Trara Mahoney beat us to the punch sending a bottle of Champers to Emmet.

We did notice in their thanks that the Mahoneys got mentioned.

We were very grateful that he acceded to our request and refrained from mentioning us, as our situation remains unfortunately precarious.

Be that as it may, it will not dampen the enthusiasm by which we shall celebrate Emmet’s accomplishments.

We have already made reservations at a rather remarkable brasserie.

Unfortunately, for you, we must keep the location opaque, but we shall send pictures, if possible.

Cousin Morag, Lochlainn and cook also sent their very best wishes, and will host an open bar at the Loch Shiel Hotel to commemorate the occasion.

One could expect no less.

Miss Pancake

After such a very exciting morning Craig and I had an afternoon relax.

Sometimes I went outside and had a relax and watched the birds in the bushes.

Sometimes they are noisy birds. Then I go back inside.

Zita came home a bit early today. That was a good idea.

Then Kathy came here for a little visit.

But I got in trouble because I was a too much barking dog. Oh dear.

Then Zita went to the nice grocery store to get some special things.

Because Niamh is making dinner tonight and she always need special things for her delicious dinners.

One of Emmet’s friends made a beautiful picture just made of the very old in Irish words.

And it said Congratulations Emmet. My goodness that was a beautiful picture.

And Emmet said that there are lots of interesting little stories in their big story, and they are all about long time ago hero dogs. My goodness me.

That will be exciting. I think Craig will read that part to me. Ha.

I cannot read those letters so very well. Maybe someday I will go to university too.

Then I will be able to read those words and have doughnuts for my lunch.

Niamh made her very delicious tortellinis soup for dinner.

Tortellinis soup is everybody’s favourite. Ha.

Then we watched the last part of the funny detectives.

But I did not see it because I fell asleep in our hall. Oh well.

And then it was time to go to bed.
