Day Eight Hundred and Fifty Three

Miss Pancake

Last night Zita and I slept in the big comfy bed. With Craig.

Because he is getting all better and is not so very noisy, all the time. That is good.

I do not like it when things are not all right.

Zita and I made the house all spic and span this morning.

And we played catch the noisy machine game too. Ha.

When Craig got up he had a piece of that cake, made from corns, and he put butter on it. There were lots of crumbs too.

Crumbs are my favourite.

Then Craig got me my lunch.

Niamh was very busy this morning, but she does not have to work this afternoon. That is a good idea.

So I minded her until the house was as clean as could be.

Then it was time to go to our farm. In the fast car.

Not in Mister Clifford. He is not so fast. Just very big.

And I have my very own comfy bed in Mister Clifford.

The other night when Craig was sick and Zita was fast asleep in the living room, the Badgers came in.

They were out celebrating.

Because it was the anniversary of when they helped steal a very important very very old stone.

Because it had been stolen by a nasty long time ago King, and he took it to England. Just for him.

So a long time ago they stole it back, right out of a giant church. My goodness me.

But they did not get caught right away.

And when they took it back to Scotland,

Furrgus and Festis’s father, the Old Laird asked his friend, Mister Lochlainn’s father to make a very nice copy.

Right from one of the stones in their castle.

The castle without so very many roofs.

So he did.

But when the police caught everybody, they gave them the pretend stone. Ha.

That really old important stone is still hidden in the castle.

And nobody can find it because it looks like all the other stones in their old castle.

Now only Festis and Furrgus and Cousin Mórag and Mister Lochlainn know how to find it. Ha.

That was a very good story.

And maybe it is an all true story. Maybe.

Craig says sometimes Scotsman’s stories are lots more interesting than what happened.

Because nights are long in Scotland.

And he knows, because he is a pretend Scotsman.

Because his father was a Scotsman.

And all his uncles are Scotsmen too.

And we have a giant Scotsmen sword. In the den under all the books. Good for us.

But then we were all very tired so went to our fast asleep.

This afternoon everybody was very busy, except for Craig, he had the sneezles and was listening to a very good book. In the den.

But Niamh was trying to find a new take it with you telephone. I do not know why. But it must be very hard.

Because it took a very long time.

And then we made from Mexico food. And we wrapped it all up in thin pancakes.

When I was little I was very thin too.

But now I am just as elegant as can be. Craig told me. So it is true.

After dinner time Zita and I drove Niamh to find Dina and Emily.

So they could have some together beers and maybe a snack.

And when we got back it was detective program time for us. Ha.
