Day Thirty Nine

Festis

Well that Niamh Taylor was out the door to the university, before we had even got the bacon into the pan.

And she would not even delay herself for a double decker bacon sandwich.

Mister Craig was up earlier than usual also.

By the time we returned from morning patrol he was already tidying things up.

Which was a great idea as Mrs. T will be home today.

The dishwasher was running, the garbage bags were neatly tied, surplus mail dispatched and the counter wiped down.

Which was good timing as Mrs. T’s plane was nearly overhead when the dishwasher started.

It was another sunny day and really not so very cold outside .

So the three of us went off to continue conducting our research into the best local pastries.

It also removed the possibility of us being tasked with helping the tidying.

As we walked up to Bank street the inevitable argument as to what we should be using to pass judgement occurred.

Scones, Croissants, Danishes, Eclairs, Petite Fours, Profiteroles, doughnuts, filled or non filled.

This animated discussion lasted all the way over the bridge until found ourselves in front of the Life of Pie.

It must have been fate as it was in the middle of lunchtime.

And the pies were fresh from the ovens.

Well who would resist fate, let me assure you, it was not us.

But we decided that while exquisite for dessert pies were really too much to be considered a pastry.

But fortuitously they also make loads of other tasty treats. We got a bag of assorted delicacies.

When we finally got home the house looked nearly respectable. Thank goodness.

So we retired for our post lunch naps.

When we woke up the house was as neat and tidy as you could believe.

Which was good as just then Miss Niamh and Miss Tarryn and Miss Emily brought Mrs. T home from the airport.

With suitcases full of hand knitted sweaters and confectioneries.

Mrs. Kavanagh snuck in, at the last minute, two Toblerone bars for Craig.

And Mister Collin found just the right kind of no-slip gloves for wheelchair driving.

So it was a well spent trip I must say.

All the young ladies were in the dining room doing more homework.

A never ending task at this point in times at university.

After a hot shower to rid herself of the airplane environment Zita and Craig had a couple of sandwiches for their dinner.

In the den, due to the packed dining room.

Then, jet lagged Zita retired to bed so Craig did too.

So he would not stay up till all hours watching the football games.
