We went over to the dining room table where Uncle Dugal was still fast asleep.
And still wrapped up tight in Emmet’s down duvet.
Zita was up early also and kindly made coffee for all of us.
So the four of us just sat quietly and looked out the windows.
Niamh soon appeared as Thursdays are chock a block with classes at her university.
Even Craig did not have his customary lie in.
Because Miss Pam was returning to continue painting.
Fortunately Festis and I are safely ensconced on our accustomed spots and the duvet seemed to suit Dugal.
So when the ladies bicycled off we busied ourselves with the latest edition of Niamh’s New Yorker magazine.
And Dugal found a stash of books even older than himself.
So he was set for the rest of the day.
When Craig had finished his second coffee Miss Pam arrived so after the appropriate salutations painting resumed.
Until she ran out our the particular paint needed and she took her lunch before getting another can or two.
Festis and I put on our Wellingtons and went to reconnoiter the neighbourhood.
Even on such a windy cloudy day the trees are beautiful.
Even our own new tree is as orange as one could want.
But Poppy’s pond looked quite desolate nearly empty of water.
But soon enough it will be covered in snow and just right for our ice skating jamboree.
But we were quite lucky as as soon as we were taking off our Wellingtons there was a huge rain storm.
It only lasted a bit but we would have been soaked right through.
It nearly got Miss Pam when she came back to paint the long hall. Well out of our way.
So by common consent we had our afternoon nap. We were still asleep when Zita got home. After Niamh was close behind.
Zita made omelettes for their dinner tonight.
We were not so hungry after discovering Kathy’s apple pie. My goodness me. That was a very delicious pie.
Then Niamh went out to meet a friend. After seeing Miss Tarryn and Miss Stach.
Craig and Zita looked through all of Mister Tom’s detective programs so they could watch something new.
We decided to play poker. No money mind.
