Day Twelve

Fortunately we awakened to a beautiful sunny day.

Mrs.T and young Niamh were not far behind us.

It is going to be a busy day for them.

Niamh has a couple of classes at her university and then the ladies are going to Brockville.

It is about an hour’s drive away by Buick.

Niamh is going to get some lessons on how to pass your drivers license test.

Which is much better than Uncle Dugal, who never bothered to get one.

Being the son of the Laird no one ever had the gumption to ask for one.

The family used to alert the village when Dugal took his Speed Six for a spin.

So they and the sheep would stay well off the roads.

And my bother’s last driver’s license was issued in Singapore.

And he has not been there in 60 years. Best not inquire about that I suppose.

I have not renewed mine since I wrote off the Black Lighting at the TT.

Even Blackthorn-Badgers know when to hang it up. Well some of us anyway.

Not many people get their license first time around, well not without some added incentive for a successful evaluation.

Like a case or two of Scotch.

Cousin Morag got hers very first time.

But then who would have the courage to look her in the eye and say “you failed”,

Not one of us that is certain.

After lunchtime Miss Pam returned to continue the painting. We went for a ramble. Safer that.

Looking at the traffic on the street there will be another football game tonight.

Craig should get ready for another disappointment I am afraid.

His hockey teams lost last night also.

I suspect that is why he spends his evenings with the detectives. Less disappointing I think.

Zita and Niamh did not get home in time for dinner.

So the Uber man brought Craig a very fat hamburger and lots of chips.

So he could watch the football game and have dinner at the same time.

He turned down our offer of porridge with marmalade.

When Zita arrived his team was ahead so he thought it was time to watch the detective.

In case he jinxed his team.

We went back to our continuous poker game. I am ahead by three Cheerios.
