Festis
By the time we returned from morning patrol it was piling up knee deep, well our knees anyway.
Fortunately Zita was up and had awakened the furnace so the house was toasty warm, thank goodness.
So we had our breakfast with Zita but by the time Niamh was ready to go to work shovelling was required.
So the two of them got right to it. Or the car might not have escaped.
But all went well and Niamh made it to the Three Trees on time.
But it will be only adventurously dedicated shoppers who will brave the weather today I say.
When she returned home Craig was up and made coffees all round.
Then Zita returned to her office and we turned in for our much deserved nap.
Though the regular passing of the snowplows made it a bit of a challenge.
The post did not appear today so our presents presents from Tioram did not appear.
But the crèche finally appeared. Thank goodness.
We would not want for visitors to think we had no traditions. Or were Presbyterians.
And fortunately The Lochiel has once again asked Taillear dubh na Tuaighe and his kin to provide security, things being what they are.
The old Lochiel was a fishing chum of our father, The Laird.
Our river being the best in the highlands for salmon.
So he was always lounging about the castle.
We heard that at the time Lochiel and Cousin Morag were, as they say, an item.
But he did not return from the Somme and our Morag never mentioned him again. Ahh well.
It was a sad time in the Isles, with so many of us serving, for untold generations.
Niamh was out for dinner tonight so we went on an early patrol in order to take advantage of an extended time at the dining room table.
Craig and Zita are watching the program about the SAS again. So we are keeping Dugal preoccupied. Sleeping dogs you know.
The snow shoes are really quite useful, after you stop tripping over yourself.
We are now on the lookout for that bunny rabbit, to make sure it is not harassed by miscreants.
It was a small request from our Miss Poppy.
After shovelling again, Zita and her car went to bring Niamh home before she went out for dinner.
