Well we did not get up so very early this morning.
Because it is sleeping in Sunday.
After we had our breakfast we looked out the windows at the beautiful day.
It was very sunny out and not even a little bit cold. Ha.
Then Niamh was awake too. So she and I looked out the window and Zita talked to Ireland.
When Craig got up it was time for us to take Niamh to her university to write more university stories.
She could not go to her coffee store, because they are all closed, because it is a holiday.
Zita got everybody special chocolates for the holiday.
A bunny used to come and hide little chocolates all over everywhere here.
But that bunny was a friend of Miss Poppy and now her friend is gone the bunny is too sad to visit our house.
Then when Zita was reading one of Niamh’s very long stories I went in the den to mind Craig.
I did not understand Niamh’s story. Because I have not gone to university.
Sometimes very polite dogs to to university. Maybe I will too. Maybe.
Craig is very easy to mind because he was just writing my story. Ha.
Then after my lunch Zita remembered that she did not make the house spic and span yesterday.
So we had to do it today. Oh well.
And she found the very noisy floor cleaner.
And then I jumped right up on the roll around table for your feet. Ha.
I am a very good jumper. Zita was very surprised.
And when we cleaned the bathroom I was the very best helper. Ha.
I can jump in and out of the bathtub all by myself. Ha.
Festis and Furrgus
Well it is Easter.
Dugal asked whether we were going to church.
I glanced at my brother, fast asleep, totally wrapped in his kilt and I said perhaps not.
Uncle rather grunted his approval and we all went back to the serious business of recovering from last night’s extravaganza.
I must commend Catina Gia, there was enough food to get us through until well past even Niamh’s arrival home.
Including our requested surplus of desserts.
As Uncle Dugal remarked we might as well been in the Piedmonts, guests of the Contessa.
As Uncle Dugal remarked we might as well been in the Piedmonts, guests of the Contessa.
Though with all deference to Italy they can no make a decent Scotch.
And last night we killed off two bottles, including a fabulous Ardbeg.
Unfortunately we have finished the last bottle of The Belvinie 30 and at it’s current price refuse to replace it.
Fortunately we still have two and a half cases of Hine Antique, in back basement storage.
We contended ourselves with a modest half bottle to finish off the evening.
But this morning came rather early and very bright I must say.
Fortunately the Easter Bunny does not yet know Miss Pancake well enough to visit, so we were spared that interruption. Thank goodness.
When Zita and Niamh and Miss P took our Niamh to study at the university Craig made his appearance.
As a gentleman he offered us some triple espressos, but we decided on buckets of water.
It did not help, but at least we were content in our trying. So we went back to sleep.
Fortunately we missed the call from Cousin Morag.
We will flip a coin to see who calls her back.
Miss Pancake
Last night Niamh and her friends went to a hockey game.
And it was Craig’s team.
And they even won. My goodness.
We cleaned the house so it was very clean. Even the floors.
Then Zita and I went to the university to get Niamh and then we went to a very wonderful grocery store.
To get special delicious sausages. Because Niamh is going to make her a Tortellinis and sausages soup.
And Zita made a chocolate cake for dinner tonight.
When we got back to our house it was just the right time for a lovely walk.
And we went right to the farm.
And it was still a beautiful day outside.
The car knows how to get there all by itself.
There is nearly not a bit of snow where we walk at the farm. So my feet do not get cold.
Then we ran all over and had a very good time, until we were tired and came home.
I got into the bathtub all by myself for my dirty feet bath.
We got pictures from Miss Bruna and Mister Lyndon. And yesterday they walked all the through a smelly forest.
But it was not a nasty smell. That is good.
Festis and Furrgus
We managed to actually go on afternoon patrol, well late after if the truth be known.
When we got home Uncle was still recovering, Niamh was downstairs studying, Mrs. T and Pancake were off at the Experimental Farm.
Craig was in the living room with Oat Cakes.
Good lord. And I have not seen an Oat Cake since Hogmanay eight or so years ago.
Somewhere up in the Pandjsher Gorge as I recall.
He said Mrs. T found them. He offered to share, unfortunately all of us have yet to recover our taste for food. So we politely declined.
Fetis summoned up his resolve and phoned Morag. But the gods smiled and she was not there.
Cook answered the phone and said that Morag and Lochlainn had gone up the braes to the old circle.
To give her herd of dogs a place to amuse themselves.
I asked Cook how was Easter progressing, and she told me, in no uncertain terms, that the Kirk need a new pastor and a new roof.
Not wanting in on that particular conversation I wished her a lovely Easter.
And asked, changing the subject, had the shipment of their year’s supply of maple syrup arrived?
Whew.
Miss Pancake
After my bath it was time to get ready for our special dinner tonight.
Miss Emily came over to help us and she brought tasty treats. Even ice cream too.
So our kitchen was filled with ladies.
And Craig was the only boy at dinner. Too bad for him.
Everybody had the Tortellinis soup. Craig had two.
We did not watch the detective program tonight.
Because everybody was eating three different desserts and talking.
Then Zita and Niamh drove Miss Emily home and then it was time to go to bed.
