Day One Hundred and Ninety Nine

Miss Pancake

When we got up it was as sunny as could be.

I saw it as soon as we opened the curtains. My goodness.

And after Zita and I had our breakfast I went into the bedroom to get my friend Craig all awake too.

Because this is a Craig and Pancake day.

Because today is Zita’s day when she goes to the other office.

And Niamh had to go to her university to study for her exams. Oh dear.

My school does not have exams. It has delicious treats instead. That is a good school.

Zita and I practiced our homework right in front of my house this morning.

And then Niamh came upstairs.

She was all awake but she was a bit soggy. Because of her good morning shower.

So I minded her while she dried up.

Then it was time for Zita to drive Niamh to the university and then go downtown. By herself. Oh dear. That is not so much fun.

When everybody was gone Craig made his first coffee and we had an all rolled up little apple pie. Ha.

And when he got his another coffee we had the special for breakfast cookies too.

And I licked the plate so clean. Ha.

Then it was time for my morning nap. Because I have been very busy this week.

When I was fast asleep a bird flew right into my watching window and woke me up.

But Craig told me that it was just a lost bird, so I went back to sleep.

Furrgus and Festis

Now that was more like it.

When Mrs. T opened the curtains this morning the sunlight was so bright it awakened both my brother and myself.

Now we do admit to staying up far too late last night.

When we returned from the midnight patrol, dominoes seemed like a good idea, several hours late we had completely devoured one pie of our pies.

Guilt alone prevented us from further excess.

But awaking was not seamless this morning I do say.

But nevertheless we were touring the neighbourhood as Mrs. T and young Niamh left for the day.

We contemplated jogging over the bridge again today, but common sense got the better of us and we stopped in at the Wild Oat as they were opening.

Which was fortuitous as their chocolate stuffed croissants had just exited the ovens.

A few of those and several cups of triple espressos later were were able to meet the day with aplomb.

Lochlainn has informed Dugal that Cousin Morag and the canine’s shooting break had arrived safely in Edinburgh.

And about an hour sooner than if she had driven at a respectable speed.

We suspect this trip is much to the relief of cook, and her associates.

As Morag is now insisting on home made food for that brace of puppies.

Lord help the Balmoral’s kitchen. My goodness.

Miss Pancake

This morning Zita told me that her own mother was back in her very own house.

And not in that hospital anymore.

So she can have toast with marmalade. Whenever she wants to.

Or maybe even a glass of whiskey. Ha.

My friends the badgers always have little glasses of their old as can be Scotch every night.

So they can go to sleep.

And now she can see her very beautiful garden. And listen to the birds.

Our garden has brand new flowers growing everywhere.

And there are lots of little leaves on all our trees. My goodness. I think we have very fast trees.

Maybe Mister Aidan and Mister Kiran will have to visit my house today.

Because their house broke, and now they do not have any water at all. My goodness me.

So now they do not even have a bathroom.

So they can come here to have some showers in our new beautiful bathroom.

I did not have to remind Craig about my lunchtime today.

Then I looked out the window for a while.

But then I was a bit sleepy and my watching chair is very comfy. Ha.

So I minded Craig and had my afternoon nap all at the very same time.

It was a bit warm outside this afternoon so after I was awake Craig left the back door open and I went in and out lots of times.

We saw the very old dog today.

His friend brings a wagon when they go to our park for their walks.

Because that dog cannot always walk back to his own house.

So it gets in the wagon and has a lovely ride home.

Like Craig’s go fast chair. Ha. That is a good idea.

As soon as I saw our car in the driveway I ran outside to meet Zita.

And after she changed her clothes we went to the farm. In our fast car.

And I ran all around and there was no one there but us.

And when we got home it was nearly my dinnertime. Good for us.

I only had to mind Craig and Zita at dinner because Niamh was still at her university.

And Craig found us a brand new detective program.

And after dinnertime we watched it.
