Day One Hundred and Ninety Three

Miss Pancake

Well when we got up and looked out our watching window all the snow was gone. And it was gone everywhere.

And there were even more flowers in my garden. My goodness.

And even the leaves are starting.

I have never seen any all full of leaves trees.

Just Christmas tress.

Because when I was brand new it was the winter time.

My goodness. That will be exciting.

And we have lots and lots of trees.

Especially in our beautiful park. And it is right across the street from my house.

So we drove Niamh to her university because she still has some important stories to write.

It was another very beautiful day. So we left the back door open so I can go in and out whenever I want. Ha.

Because it was such a beautiful day Craig only had a very little sleep in.

Then he had angry buns for his breakfast. I got to lick the plate as clean as could be. That is an easy job.

Then I had my morning nap on my comfy watching chair.

That is a very comfy chair for me.

Dugal and Festis and Furgus.

We have wonderful new for everyone.

The clan’s plans to fulfill our centuries of gratitude to Lochlainn’s family has come to pass.

The McDonald’s of Sandaigh have their wee island back.

On Tuesday The Blackthorn-Badger Trust was enormously pleased to present the deeds of ownership back to them.

It appears, or so we have been told, though Uncle Dugal remains fervently silent about any of this, that the previous owners, that odious Swiss fellow. defaulted on loans which he had secured using the island as collateral.

And with his debts being called in, what with the failure of Credit Swiss, he was forced to sell the island at, shall we say, a ruinous discount.

The Blackthorn-Badger Trust immediately stepped in and returned it to its rightful owners.

Now the more suspicious of you may feel that the problems of Credit Swiss were of their own malfeasance and incompetence, and that may be true.

But the eons old question of “did they jump, or were they pushed? has been discussed in the gutter press.

And it seems The Trust also snapped up several other quite desirable properties, which may prove advantageous in the long run.

Well who could not use a pied de terre in Monaco?

Or a nice 16th century villa outside of Rome? With an olive orchard. My goodness.

And the situation does put our repeated trips downtown to sign multitudinous documents in some context.

Though bother Festis and I have agreed to be more diligent in reading what we sign.

Especially since we have found out the we and Cousin Morag are the principals on the Sandaigh Island charitable foundation.

We are tasked with restoring the Nature Preserve and the restoration of McDonald’s heritage home including the Lighthouse.

Though our suspicions that a charitable foundation offers up many unusual tax advantages may prove unfounded.

But I think our first job will be to replace the family’s auditor with ones the three of us hire. Just to be careful you see.

We decided to celebrate this, and the lovely weather by dinning alfresco at Locals.

As it was celebratory we had their steak au poivre and frites.

We brought our own champagne. Naturally.

Miss Pancake

It was a very good morning for a relax. So that is just what Craig and I did. Together in the living room.

Zita did not need so much minding today.

Because she was taking to people on her computer all day long.

Today I got a bigger lunch.

Because I am growing very fast and am a bit skinny. So Zita said I should have more delicious food. What a good idea.

When the Badgers came back from their lunch they brought me a bit of very very delicious steak too. Ha.

It was an important day for them, so every one should be spoiled. They said.

Just because.

Just because days are my favourite.

Craig is not such a very good bread cutter.

So we had the fastest peanut butter and honey sandwiches in the world for lunch.

They were so big I had to have two bits. My goodness.

Then I cleaned the plate clean too. Ha.

I was a big help today.

Bouvier dogs really want to be the very best helpers ever. Ha. Good for us.

Then Zita was all finished talking to people so it was time for me to go and mind her until she was all finished our work.

But my friend Niamh was still at her university when we were finished.

Oh dear me.

And she got home before dinnertime but she had to go somewhere else to study.

Because she had been too long in her university for her head to work. My goodness.

Zita and I walked up and down my street lots of times. We practiced our beside her walking. That was our homework.

And we walked on my own front walk and on our patio too. Ha. That was a lot of homework.

We had very delicious toasty cheese sandwiches for dinner.

But the other day was toasty cheese sandwich day but Craig forgot.

So we are having some tonight instead.

Craig has to find a new detective program.

Because the other one is all finished.
