Day One Hundred and Thirty Eight

Miss Pancake

We only had a little sleep in this morning.

Then I was all awake so Zita was too. Good for us.

So I had my breakfast with her.

And then Niamh was upstairs too. My goodness.

And when Zita went to the grocery stores Niamh and I played the do not get on the chairs game. Ha.

And I won. But then I was in trouble. Too bad for me.

But Craig was all awake in the den so I went in there to help him with his first coffee.

He did not know I was in trouble. And I did not tell him. Ha.

Then Zita came home and I helped her with all the big bags of groceries. That is a good job.

Then we drove Niamh to The Three Trees store where she works.

Tarryn works there too. That is nice.

And yesterday they got lots of boxes of brand new things to sell people. That was a good idea.

Then Zita and I went just across the street to her old university.

It is Mister Saint Paul’s university. They have lots of sidewalks there.

So we practiced our walking all over. And we did it for a very long time.

But I got lots of liver treats. Because I was a very good listener.

And when we got home I was so tired I had my nap right away.

On my comfy bed in front of my very own watching windows.

But I slept right through my own lunchtime. Oh dear

Furrgus and Festis

We returned from morning patrol just in time to see Miss Pancake launch herself, with a running leap, onto the top of the back of the white chair.

Much to our Niamh’s dismay.

We instantly decided it was time for brunch and hurriedly exited the house.

Fortunately it was not so very cold, just cold enough to justify Festis and Dugal adding a side of fried potatoes to accompany their French toast.

I just added strawberries to mine. And whipped cream.

By the time we returned Miss P was fast asleep at Zita’s feet while she struggled with getting a new telephone.

Which is akin to settling the situation in the Middle East in my opinion.

We settled in and hoped no one would ask for our assistance.

Miss Pancake

When I woke up Craig knew I was nearly all starved, so he got me my lunch right away.

So I did not starve into nothing. That was good.

Then I helped my friend Zita make Craig’s telephone her telephone.

Because hers is just as broken as can be.

But Craig’s telephone is as old as can be. So it took a very long time.

But I was a very big help. Zita told me so.

Being a big help is my very best job. It is known.

But then she went outside to take away the too much snow. And I could not help her.

Because I had to stay in the house to mind Craig. Too bad for me.

But I loudly told everybody that I should have been outside. Ha. Good for me.

Then when she came in we went to Bruna’s house. That is where Lee and Cara live.

Because in their backyard they have snow hills to jump on. That is lots of fun for me.

And I met a very very big dog. But I was not scared at all. And he was a very polite dog too. That was nice.

When we got home Zita went for an exercise walk with Professor Jill.

She teaches all about some long ago times, at Niamh’s university.

And she even taught Emmet when he went there.

She has two very little dogs.

Niamh told me that today is Emmet and Alice’s anniversary.

And they are going to go to a nice restaurant in far away Cork, for their together dinner.

That is what people do when they have an anniversary. Or even go for lovey long walks with their dog. Ha.

When Zita got home it was our time to go and get my friend Niamh. At her work. That is a good job for me.

Then it was time for my dinner. And everyone else’s too.

They had brand new bread and lots to cheese. I could smell it.

My friend Poppy told me that up on the very busy street is the smelliest store in the world.

And it is full right up with delicious cheeses from everywhere. It was her very favourite store.

And it has a giant buffalo painted on the outside.

We will go see it when the way too much snow is all gone. Craig told me so.

Maybe they give cheese treats to nice dogs. That would be a good idea.

After dinner I had a nice sleep under the dining room table so I could mind everybody.

Then we were all very tired so we could go to our comfy beds.
