Day One Hundred and Thirty Four

Festis and Furrgus.

Well Furrgus and I had a rather relaxing day yesterday.

We accompanied Uncle Dugal on his annual Valentine’s Day expedition.

Usually we just march over to Cacao and he makes their day, but they are closed on Mondays.

Can you believe it. Closed the Monday before Valentine’s Day. Good lord.

So after some consultations we ventured over the bridge to, what turned out to be, a rather delicious find.

The chocolatier Cylie. Not so far from the porridge restaurant.

So Dugal had them make up four boxes of hand made chocolates.

And while waiting we had some very bracing hot chocolate.

Then we went back over the bridge to the UPS store.

Where they packaged up the chocolates in airtight padded boxes and sent them off to the four corners of the world.

The recipients are forever a mystery to us. And Uncle has never offered any insight.

Though I once noticed, out of the corner of my eye, a rather familiar Piedmontese address.

Be that as it may, we then went to the bank to augment Cousin Morag’s cache.

We have been given to understand that The Locheil has opened the clan purse also.

So Lochlainn is flying over with a plane-full of supplies.

I am afraid Morag will have a flower-less Valentine’s Day this year.

Though we are sure her “Admirers” have been coerced into making generous contributions to the relief efforts.

See our previous comments about The Locheil.

Well after lunchtime when we finally arrived home Miss Pancake had been designated a recidivist and she was not in the least phased by this.

My goodness.

We discreetly resumed our accustomed places and the drama unfolded around us.

Miss Pancake

I did not get into trouble this morning.

Because I was a good listener. Ha. Good for me.

My friend Niamh left very early because she had lots of schoolwork to finish before going to work.

And Zita had to go downtown again.

And she said it is for all day so I have to mind Craig and make sure he has his lunch too. My goodness.

So it was just a Craig and Pancake day.

After we had our croissant I had a very long nap.

Right in front of my watching window. Just in case something happened outside.

And Craig needed my help.

It is Valentine’s Day today.

But it is not such a good day for dogs.

Because everybody gives their best friends chocolates. But chocolates makes dogs very sick.

So Craig did not get Zita chocolates. He got her very beautiful flowers instead.

And a man brought them to our house. Ha. That was a good idea.

We got them from a lovely beautiful flowers store where Niamh worked and very long time ago.

We had two breakfasts today.

Because Craig had to get up very early to help me mind the house.

So we had another croissant before lunchtime. And Craig had another espresso too. Ha.

Then I minded right beside him.

That is a good job for me.

After lunchtime I had to chase my cow all over. That is a very tiring job. It is known.

So I had a nice sleep on my comfy bed.

Festis and Furrgus

Miss P was fast fast asleep when we went off to the Glebe Pub.

Tuesday is the fish and chips all day special

We try not to miss it.

I ordered a salad. Unlike the other two.

When we finally got home Zita was there and putting her beautiful flowers in an appropriate vase.

It took a rather long time to get home.

As all the waitresses along Bank street came out to wish Dugal a lovely Valentine’s Day.

At home we wished everyone a very happy Valentine’s Day just as Zita took Miss Pancake for her evening constitutional.

We did notice all the comfy living room chairs had been barricaded. We did not comment.

Why comment on the obvious I say.

I think access to the den sofa has gone to Miss Dog’s head.

Miss Pancake

I was a good listener tonight when we went on our dinnertime walk.

Only Craig and Zita were here for dinner tonight so I had an easy night.

Then Niamh and Tarryn came home and they brought an Valentine’s Day Ice Cream cake for dessert.

But I did not have any.

Because there was way too much chocolate inside that cake. Oh well.

We did not watch a detective program.

Because everybody was too busy with the ice cream cake.

Then we were too sleepy.

So we went right to our cosy beds.
