Miss Pancake
I had to get up in the middle of the night. To go outside.
But I went back to sleep right away. On my very comfy bed. Good for me.
Then when Zita was awake I woke up too. And we had our breakfast.
It was not raining this morning so I did not get as wet as a fish. Ha.
Then my friend Niamh came upstairs and I helped her with her breakfast too.
But then she had to go to her university for her class.
And Zita had to go to work.
But she did not have to go downtown.
Because we have our very own downtown office right here in our house. Ha.
So we went to work together. And I minded her nearly all morning.
Even when she had very important meetings.
When Craig got up he just made his coffee.
He did not do anything interesting so I went right back to our office. To mind Zita.
That is my favourite job.
Then Zita came out to make her very own coffee and we looked out the window.
At our own corner. But there was no one there.
But then Mister Festis and Mister Furrgus came in.
They went outside even before Niamh went to school, so they could look all around our neighbourhood.
Because sometimes there are scary animals who want to come right here. To our house.
My far far away teacher Miss Poppy used to scare them all away.
But she was very big and very fierce. They told me so.
And when I am very big and very fierce that will be my job too.
Until then Mister Festis and Mister Furrgus will help guard the house.
Zita told me they do not mind.
Because after looking all around they go up to the busy street.
And there are lots and lots of lovely restaurants there.
So they have their breakfasts and lots of times their lunches there too.
But when they came home today they had to have a nap.
Because they ate way too much this morning. My goodness.
I have a special dish for my meals. It is special so I do not eat my food way too fast.
Because then I might get a sick tummy.
Maybe Mister Festis and Mister Furrgus should get very little plates. Then they would not eat too much.
Their Uncle says they do not eat enough porridge and too many croissants and doughnuts.
I have never had porridge.
I just have my own food and sometimes bits of toasts from my friend Craig. Ha.
Then Zita had another meeting.
And it was not very interesting so went to help Craig look out the watching window.
That is a good job for minder dogs like me.
Festis and Furrgus
We see that our Miss Pancake has started to tell everyone her own story. That is a good idea.
When we got back from Victories she was practicing her sitting and waiting. A very hard lesson, let me tell you.
You learn that lesson quickly in crowded pubs.
This morning she tried to get in her old crate but she is already too large. My goodness.
It was so slippery outside last night we did not go on patrol so we had an extended effort this morning.
We brought back a medium size bag of mixed doughnuts and croissants.
We noticed that is warmer here than in Glenfinnan.
Fortunately Lochlainn has laid in a more than sufficient amount of firewood.
And Cousin Morag and the dogs have flown in her plane over to Türkiye to lend a hand.
My goodness what a tragedy.
But her dogs are superbly trained. Naturally.
Miss Pancake
I got into some more trouble this morning.
When nobody was around I found out how to get on the comfy sofa in the den. Ha.
But Zita made me get off. Oh well. Too bad for me.
Then I took Zita for a before my lunch walk today.
So we could practice not pulling when walking. That is a hard job for me.
We went to my friends Lee and Cara’s backyard.
Because they have giant snow hills to climb on. That is lots of fun. Ha.
When we got home Craig got me my lunch and then Zita and I went back to work.
Sometimes I had to go to help Craig with the watching window.
And sometimes I went in the den too.
To make sure he was alright. That is my job too.
Minder dogs have lots and lots of very important jobs.
Minder dogs have lots and lots of very important jobs.
When our work for the rascal ladies was all finished Zita and I went for another practice walk.
Before it got as dark as can be,
Then I helped Zita move the snow from my yard.
Being a big help is another important job for me.
Niamh did not come home until after our dinnertime, but she brought Miss Tarryn and Miss Emily with her.
Then everybody was here for me to mind.
That makes me very happy. It is known.
