Day One Hundred and Twenty Two

Furrgus

But goodness gracious.

Everyone, and by that I specifically mean Craig was up at the crack of dawn.

Because Zita was at her downtown office and Niamh had her other very early class.

So someone had to be awake and up to watch Miss Pancake.

So Craig was making his first coffee as Zita and Niamh left.

Miss Pancake was not very impressed that both Zita and Niamh left the house and now there was only Craig to mind.

So after barking at the back door she raced around the whole house, for several minutes. My goodness me.

We thought of taking her with us on morning patrol but Craig said it was still a bit too soon.

So we went to the Sunset Grill by ourselves.

In spite of it being Imbloc it was stingingly cold outside side today.

Certainly there was no sign of spring to be seen.

We called Tioram to wish all a happy Imboloc.

But Cousin Morag and the rest had gone up to Tigh nam Brdach.

To clean the all the weeds off the Cailleach’s wee house.

To help gather firewood to last her until spring arrives.

It takes all of the town’s “volunteers” to get the place all prepared for Beltane.

But who could ignore over four thousand years of responsibility.

So as it was, so it is.

But with the addition of a buffet lunch back at the castle.

And perhaps a dram or two, if Lochlainn can find some visitors scotch that is.

A good man is that Lochlainn.

We tried to explain it all to Miss Pancake but she was way too busy practicing at the watching window.

But I am a bit afraid we bored her, as she nearly immediately went into the kitchen doorway and fell fast asleep.

We had a lovely steak Asada at Feleena’s last night.

But were certainly glad to have made it home for dessert.

Unfortunately we discovered that no one was casting roles for badgers just now.

Even distinguished ones such as we three.

But Miss Deidre will keep us in mind, if anything comes up.

Niamh came home after lunchtime.

But only for a bit, because she was late for everything today.

But Miss Pancake went in the side yard waiting in case she returned.

And then, being annoyed when she came back in, she had a huge fight with her giant squid.

After that she was so tired that she had an all afternoon nap.

When Zita got home Miss Pancake was very glad to see her.

So they went on a walk right away. Before it good too dark.

It was not as cold this afternoon. Thank goodness.

As luck would have it, there was more than enough extra Indian food for dinner.

Because Niamh was at the university until late tonight they ate without her.

Perhaps Craig and Zita will watch a mystery with Miss Pancake tonight, while we reintroduce our poker championship.
