Day One Hundred and Twenty Four

Furrgus

The neighbourhood was still rock solid frozen when we awoke.

So we went back to sleep, but soon Zita and Miss Poppy were awake, followed by Niamh.

So we all had breakfast together and complained about the weather, as if it made a difference. But it makes one feel better.

Niamh was off doing some errands when Craig got dressed.

But as soon as she got home Zita and Pancake drove Niamh to The Three Trees.

As it was still far too cold to walk about. As we well know.

She needed to be there early today.

Because of the truly remarkable sale that they are having.

Miss Pancake nearly stayed awake the whole trip, but not quite said Zita.

When they returned Craig was already at breakfast with his friends.

So Zita lifted Miss Pancake up to his iPad so everyone could see her. In all her furry glory.

But as it was a clean the house day Miss P confronted the vacuum cleaner for the first time.

And she protected Zita from the monster without a qualm. Dugal was pleased as punch.

But that experience proved rather tiring, so she spent the next few hours fast asleep in her crate in the kitchen.

Being the only puppy in the house is a huge amount of responsibility.

And when the kitchen floor was being washed she went in the den to mind Craig.

Then Craig went into the bathroom to warm his feet in the portable foot spa.

Now wouldn’t that have been just the thing after a long march through The Kyber. Oh well, best not dwell on the past.

Now on another battle front, Miss Dog has started a dispute with the door stop in front of Zita’s office.

No winner has been declared as of yet. We expect it to be a war of attrition.

As it was only minus twenty two this afternoon, Zita and Miss P went out to play in the side yard.

Seeing this we went up the street to Whole Foods, as we had nearly denuded our emergency rations.

And needed a complete restock.

And since we were only a hop, skip and jump from Sen we naturally stopped in for their delicious beef with noodles soup.

We needed the sustenance, as we had five shopping bags full of provisions to carry home.

When we got home something delicious was all-acooking, as we could smell it before reaching the corner of Ralph and Holmwood.

That boded well for tonight’s dinner I must say.

But before that could happen Zita and her furry companion drove over to get Niamh and Miss Tarryn to bring them back for dinner.

There was shepherds pie on order. Real shepherd’s pie. Like cook makes.

Not some sous vide imitation shepherd’s pie thank goodness.

Craig and Zita and Miss P watched a new mystery.

After the you ladies leave, I expect we will continue the poker game.

As Uncle is down four After Eights, and is mortified.
