Day One Hundred and Twenty Five

Well it could not be described at warm this morning, but you did not acquire icicles on your eyebrows when sticking you head outside.

So as everyone was having a bit of a lie-in we went off to the Sunset for breakfast.

Their blueberry pancakes were just the thing for today, and with individual side orders of sausages we were all set.

When we got home the house was full.

Miss Tarryn had a sleepover and Susan and Chris came to have tea with Zita.

And they were all in the living room eating biscuits.

When Craig got up he made himself an espresso and a cappuccino for Susan.

We just stayed in the kitchen having our tea. Well out of it we thought.

But when we went for thirds there was not a smidgen left. Good lord in heaven.

But we noticed that Tea was written on the big blackboard, so it is not a permanent disaster.

When Niamh and Tarryn went in the den for their coffee Miss Pancake showed them Craig’s most impressive collection of bayonets.

She had found them under the bookcases where they are stored, for obvious safety reasons.

And brought them out for Show and Tell.

Niamh and Tarryn were most impressed.

They should see the wall in the great hall at Tiroam.

Muskets, halberds, dozens of swords and targes. All ready, just in case.

But they are all a devil to dust I have heard. More than once I might add.

Craig has two rather ancient targes in the basement. Again, better safe than sorry we say.

After everyone finished their snacks and left we resumed our accustomed places in the living room.

And Miss Pancake retired to the den to take care of Craig.

But I must say she is getting bigger by the day.

After lunchtime Zita called Ireland and talked to her parents.

Her father is back home and he and her mother and his brand new hip went for a walk around the block.

Now that is a good sign I must say.

This afternoon we and Miss P had well deserved naps, until Miss Sach came to take Niamh away for dinner.

Then Zita and Miss Pancake went outside to frolic in the snow. It was almost balmy outside.

Only barely below zero. That was a relief to our noses I do say.

It was grilled cheese sandwiches and soup for dinner. Always a good choice in our opinion.

Then it was time for Craig and Zita’s mystery program and we opened up the Sunday Times.

Another good day under the belt.
