As we stayed up to meet the new year we had a lovely sleep in this morning.
It is still a slushy mess outdoors.
So we only went around the block once before coming home for coffee and shortbreads with Mrs. T.
Emmet had a lovely dinner with friends and Zita provided the New Year’s ride home.
Our Niamh did not come home until lunch as she stayed at Miss Tarryn’s house last night.
As they were at a party until very late.
After breakfast Mrs. T took the refrigerator apart to see what was too old to eat.
It seems as if things hide way in the back until they are old enough to vote.
After our Niamh got home Mr. and Mrs. T went to visit Miss Brenda and Mr. Rob up on Bank street.
For tea and perhaps a delicious biscuit or two.
And it was not even very cold outside so they did not freeze.
When they got home everyone was up stairs.
So we left them on their own as we ventured forth, in spite of the incoming fog.
All the very best loitering stores were closed so it was a rather short patrol this afternoon.
As we were leaving Mrs. T was off in the other direction to check on her friend’s house.
To make sure that raccoons have not taken over.
We did not call Cousin Morag today.
Years of painful experience have taught us to leave her to herself on New Year’s Day.
On those few occasions when she was confined to the castle, due to weather or judicial misinterpretations Lachlan closed the castle to all and sundry.
A wise choice we assure you.
Young Niamh went out for dinner with her friends so the rest of the family had fish a chips for their dinner.
Then they sat at the table and talked until bedtime.
We too took advantage of the day to have a relaxing evening.
