Day One Hundred and Eight

Well today Miss Pancake came home to her new family.

And everyone was very excited. Including Dugal, though he tries to pretend he is not, with studied indifference.

We got a note from the concierge at the especially for dogs hotel, where she stayed overnight.

Before getting on the airplane to Ottawa’s airport, and us.

They sent us a picture.

So we would not worry, which was very nice.

After breakfast Zita drove Niamh to The Three Trees and then filled up on groceries.

When Craig got up he took all the price tags off Miss Pancake’s belongings.

It is not polite to leave the prices on presents don’t you know.

Then Mister Danny from the airline called Zita to tell her that the plane will be a bit early.

So they could be there at the right time.

And he even knew about Bouviers. Which reassured us to no end.

So Zita went and got Niamh from work and together they went to get our new family member.

We remember when we arrived here and Zita immediately gave us a good brushing and a lovely selection of cheese and crackers.

Discovering your new family is really quite exciting and intimidating at the very same time.

We are sure it will be the same for little Miss Pancake.

And we decided to roll up the living room rug.

Until Miss Pancake knows how to ring her bells to go outside.

And Major General Clay thought an extended visit to the den would probably be best all round.

Having a brand new puppy will stressful enough for her and us, so why would we add to it.

In order to lessen our stress, we three went to the Wild Oat for omelettes and a double order of home fries.

Aside from Holmwood the streets are well neigh impassable, so we went straight up to Bank Street.

But in spite of this we made sure we were well back home well before the Arrival. Let me assure you.

In case our advice might be needed.

And we looked on Dugal’s phone to see how everything was progressing/

And Zita and Niamh sent us a picture from the Westjet cargo terminal.

As that is where Miss Pancake made her grand entrance.

So we scurried about getting everything ship shape for her arrival.

Dugal put on his only for special occasions kilt. My goodness.

So Miss Pancake arrived. Safe and sound.

We all were relieved.

We all said our thanks to Miss Poppy.

Lee and Cara immediately came to meet her.

When she got in the house everyone stayed in the kitchen with the safety gates up.

So Miss Pancake could meet the whole family and see her bed and get her very own new collar.

With her name on it.

As cooking was out out the question, Mister Tony sent two large pizzas.

And while the young Miss tested her new bed everyone else devoured the pizza.

Soon Tarryn arrived, tears of happiness already flowing. My goodness me.

Now while the whereabouts of her first night in her new home was discussed, we went on evening’s patrol.

Duty being duty and all that.

They saved some of the spicy pizza for us. The one with the hot peppers and olives.

We hen we returned Miss Pancake had already discovered the potential of hiding in wheelchairs.

But soon she will be far to big for that.

Zita put the smallest crate in the master bedroom in the hope that they might get a few hours of sleep.

We are taking bets on that.

But Tarryn is staying over. Just in case.
