Furrgus
Even so we were the first in at Little Victories.
But when we got home from our morning ramble, the undeniable smell of Peach Cobbler cooking brought us to our knees.
And it was not an sensory hallucination.
Zita had made her world famous Peach Cobbler. And it was nearly ready.
My goodness, our timing was perfect.
Niamh was deeply involved in her new university schedule and Craig was getting ready to watch the football on television.
But they immediately put everything aside when Zita asked if anyone one wanted some.
We politely asked too.
As expected it was wonderful and the fact that the recipe requires oatmeal only adds to its delightfulness.
We would send the recipe over to Tiroam but we are afraid that cook might take it amiss.
And Lord knows no one is brave enough to travel down that road.
Then Zita took the opportunity to resume her attack on the drifting snow.
Fortunately it was beautiful out there, aside from the cold.
But the cold is not as cold when it is sunny.
It is a amazing scientific phenomenon you know.
And Craig was cleaning up the den to make it particularly safe for puppies.
What a busy time I must say.
Zita and Niamh and Tarryn went to see Zita’s friend Sue. The Sue who has a pet store.
She told them all the stuff they should get, and when they should get it.
Then they went to the grocery store so they could get the ingredients so they could make a delicious dinner.
A together dinner as Miss Poppy called them. They were her favourites. When everybody was together for their dinner.
I hope she is talking to Miss Pancake.
Arriving to meet your new family is quite scary. Especially when you are very young.
And she will not even have a nanny to take care of her.
She will have to rely on Craig and Zita and Niamh’s best efforts.
Now we had a nanny for many years.
Until she was lured away by the Royal Family.
But she still sends us home made scones on our birthdays.
No matter where we were stationed. I think she may take advantage of her position.
After some cooking ballet a decidedly complex recipe nevertheless resulted in the most simply delicious chicken dinner tonight.
And an arugula and two mustards salad was right on top of the chicken.
And Craig even had extra salad.
Will wonders never cease?
The results come from the cook not the ingredients. Or so cook would smugly tell us.
Another successfully completed day.
We decided to forego any after dinner activities.
As our laundry needed our complete attention, according to Zita. Oh dear.
