Day One Hundred and Four

Furrgus

Well the snow finally stopped last night.

We did not bother with the early morning patrol.

No raccoons would be out in such weather. They may be dastardly but they are not stupid.

Neither are we.

So we just pulled the duvets over our heads until Niamh and Zita made their Saturday morning appearance.

We had a lovely breakfast and really did not miss our morning traipsing to the Bank Street restaurants as much as we feared.

After removing another enormous amount of snow from the Buick Niamh drove off to the Three Trees to work.

So Zita went for a walk with Susan and Pamala to enjoy the brilliant sunshine.

And by then Craig was well into his breakfast coffees with his friends.

In spite of their weekly attempts they have not yet solved all the tribulations of the world.

Perhaps they might better focus on the state of sidewalk cleaning before tackling the lamentable state of the world’s politics.

Well, so it occurs to me.

Last night Craig was a bit chilly, so he tried on the electric gloves that Emmet got him for Christmas.

And they worked like a charm. Flashing lights and all.

Perhaps he may lend them to us on occasion.

When Zita got home and after some delicious looking toasted cheese brioches Craig and Zita put on a new plug for the electric snowblower.

And after some to-ing and fro-ing Zita got the machine working.

And proceeded to attack the monster snow drifts that covered the side yard and the driveway.

When she got too cold she came back inside.

But she had successfully removed a lot of the snow.

While she was busy we did our mid afternoon patrol and when finished it was off to Little Victories, for some home made scones.

And they added some fresh strawberries with the cream too.

So we stayed for a warming couple of their coffees.

By the time we returned home, well more accurately, as we sloshed home, Zita had gone to get some vegetables for dinner.

So it was the perfect time for a before dinnertime nap.

Niamh brought Tarryn with her, so she would not starve to death.

Last night Craig and Zita were watching a new program. And it was not a mystery.

It was about an English veterinarian. Before the second unpleasantness.

There were lots of horses, cows and dogs, but not a badger.

Fortunately we Blackthorn-Badgers are notoriously healthy.

And aside from the annoying efforts of the Sasanachs or the occasionally the Kriegsmarine the family has very been long lived.

Tonight Niamh made her famous cheese sauce fettuccine. Everybody had seconds.

After dinner the three ladies made two types of cookies. Just in case one batch was not up to par.

A very sound approach if you ask me.
