Day One Hundred and Fifty Five

Miss Pancake

I had a very busy morning today.

Because today is the day for Zita’s rascal ladies nearly a giant party.

First we had to drive my friend Niamh to her work at the lovely Trees store.

Then Zita had to go downtown in the car.

Because the party is downtown in the very old building where all the rascals work.

I could not go. I do not know why.

Because Craig always says that I am a rascal dog. Oh dear me.

So I had to just stay here to mind Craig. That was not so interesting.

After our breakfast Zita and I went for a long walk.

It was not so very cold today. So we did not freeze all up.

Then I helped her get dressed in beautiful clothes.

Because of the rascal’s party. She is even going to eat her dinner there.

And maybe the Prime Minister will be their guest.

Maybe he will bring dessert.

Because guests always bring something very tasty to a party. It is the rule.

When Craig and I were looking out the window there was a dog with its own go fast chair. It went to our park.

My goodness me, that was a surprise.

I did not know that there made go fast chairs for dogs. That is a good idea.

And the lady put it right in the trunk of her car. My goodness.

Before my lunch one of my teeth fell right out.

Because I am getting my brand new big dog teeth. Ha.

You cannot be a fierce minder dog until you have for fierce big dog teeth. It is known.

After my lunchtime I went outside lots of times. To make sure everything was ok.

Because the badgers were not here all morning. Because of important business.

Furrgus and Festis

Well so much for a relaxing day.

As soon as we had returned from morning patrol and before we visited Ichiban for the cream buns, Dugal had press ganged us into being witnesses for amending the Blackthorn-Badger Trust.

So we had to go down to some lawyers office, who were representing Murdoch and Sons, the family lawyers.

Well at least there was some semblance of professionalism there, as they offered us coffee and some passable biscuits. So all was not lost.

And after the formalities we were able to get Dugal to take us out to lunch.

It was the very least he could do considering.

So we stopped by Wilf and Ada’s for their Eggs Benedict brunch.

We ordered the extra bacon versions.

By the time we returned home we found everyone was gone, with the exception of Mr. T and his guardian.

Who was having a small break from her taxing duties.

So after placing a dozen or so cream buns in Zita’s office freezer we had our nap.

Well, we could not have just walked past Ichiban without fulfilling this morning’s intention.

Miss Pancake.

I was so busy this morning I had to have my afternoon nap a bit early.

As I did not have even a very little nap this morning. And was a bit sleepy.

Oh well.

I chased my cow all around the living room. But I am very fast so it did not get away from me.

But then I was tired and had a nap when Craig looked out the windows.

Festis and Furrgus

Dugal contacted Cousin Morag to inform her that the amendments to the family trust had been completed.

She thanked him and expressed deep sorrow on the impact the whole sorry event had on his store of prime single malt.

And promised to restock his depleted supplies from her father’s, the next time he was away.

So she and Lochlainn could acquire some casks, discretely.

As you might expect the earl is quite aghast at the thought of his daughter running for office.

Hence Morag’s continued stay as Chatelaine of Tiroam in our absence.

Anyway who else would put up with her pack of omnipresent ruffians. Certainly not her father.

Ah well; families.

Compared to Dugal and Morag we two rather won the parents lottery I must say.

Mater and Pater were incredibly tolerant of the two of us, though cook was a close second we must say.

And Lochlainn’s father lessons made the Royal Marines training rather a snap I must say.

That we were spoilt is uncontested.

It is difficult to believe that Dugal and Morag’s parents were actually related to ours.

I mean the Laird let the local labour candidate use the forecourt for speeches.

Now he would never contemplate voting for him, but he was cook’s second cousin’s youngest and had gone to the LSE, naturally.

So it would have been unconscionable not to offer it to him.

Lost him one night over Hamburg.

Father raised a monument to him, and all the others from the Lochaber.

It is up on the far cliff, across from the castle, overlooking the Moidart.

In front of the Broch. Seemed fitting. Ahhh well.

Miss Pancake

I woke up when Niamh got home.

She and Craig had from the refrigerator pizzas because Zita was not here.

And then Niamh and Tarryn went to see a hockey game.

So Craig and I watched a movie with lots of horses.

When Zita got home she brought a box of very tasty doughnuts.

Because the Prime Minister could not come to the party so maybe they did not have dessert. Oh dear.

So she bought some for us when we watched the detective program.

And pretty soon it was time for bed. That is a good time.
