Day One Hundred and Fifty

Miss Pancake

Everybody was up early today. But Zita had to wake me up.

Because it is an busy day for us.

After Zita and Niamh and I had our breakfasts Niamh drove Zita downtown to that other office.

Because it was a more snow day. Again. Oh dear.

Then our car took Niamh to her early in the morning class at her university.

Craig and I looked out the watching window while he had his first coffee.

Craig cannot have breakfast until he has his next coffee. It is the rule.

But it is only his rule not our rule. That is good.

Then I had my good morning nap.

And minded my friend Craig, all at the same time.

Furrgus and Festis

Will the snow never stop?

I looked out the window this morning and thought I was in some little noted Russian novel. My goodness.

Fortunately the locals are well used to this,  and all our choices for breakfast remain oblivious to the weather. Thank goodness.

So after awakening my brother we doned our Himalayan climbing clothes and strode forth.

He did not get the MC being intimidated by a errant blizzard or two.

Uncle Dugal ignored us. He is a bit preoccupied with the Clans response to the potential of Morag running for office.

He sent nearly all of last night talking to Mrs. T.

Getting ladies elected is her job, and he was trying to get up to speed on the possibilities. And the pitfalls.

We are taking the “Ready, aye ready..” approach to the situation. It is easier in the long run.

After checking some suspicious paw prints we noticed that the Wild Oat was about to open and decided to join them for breakfast.

We also decided that the day required each of us have a side order of home fried potatoes to augment the omelettes.

The walk home was blessedly uneventful. Aside from the snow that is.

Dugal was beside himself preparing a brief for the family meeting later today.

It was been suggested, not by us mind, that Cousin Morag recluse herself from the meeting.

So Dugal is crafting a response to that suggestion, that will protect the author from a long and painful lesson in discretion.

One might think that anyone who lives but a quick walk from the castle would remind themselves of how fast her pack of deerhounds is.

Tempting fate is hardly a bargaining strategy.

Well we are here and they are they there. Thank the Lord.

Miss Pancake

I had a very nice nap until Craig made his next coffee and I had to help him make not too toasty toast.

I was such a good waiting dog I got a bit of toast.

And there was some honey on it. Ha.

It is a windy snow day outside so I only went outside to make sure everything was okay.

But the warm wind hole is right there in from of my comfy bed. Ha.

I did not win the chair game today.

Because I won the sofa game instead. Ha. Good for me.

But I had to get off because it was my lunchtime. And I was very hungry. Oh well.

After lunch I had a lovely nap until Niamh got home. But she had to go to another class on her computer right away.

And then Zita came home early. But she had to go to a meeting on her computer right away too.

And even my friends the Badgers had to have a meeting with all their far away friends on Dugal’s telephone.

My goodness me.

Craig and I were not so busy.

So we just stayed in the den and were very quiet. I got two pieces of popcorns. Ha.

Then Miss Sach came over to visit me. That was nice. But she did not stay for very long.

Because everybody is very busy today.

Furrgus and Festis

Well the three of us retired to the bathroom. For some privacy.

Against our fervent hopes we had to attend the Clan meeting on Dugal’s telephone.

Dugal had created the agenda, the order of speaking to the motion and named himself chair.

Not being complete fools we quickly seconded the motion.

The motion stated; “If any member of the Clan, now or in the future, wishes to run for elected office, a post facto contribution of 50 pence per vote garnered would be donated by the Blackthorn-Badger Foundation.

As a tax deductible political contribution.”

The motion was tabled and voted on in less than the time it takes to tell this.

Though the whiff of collusion permeated the proceedings I do say.

But as we are by far the most junior members of the Board of Directors we just rolled our eyes and refilled our glasses.

Dugal had bribed us with the Knockando 25.

Miss Pancake

Zita and I went for a very nice walk before she had her squeaky clean shower.

I did not have to have a bath today.

But I minded her while she was in the shower anyway. Ha.

Then I helped her make dinner. Just after had mine.

It was a together dinner tonight. That was a good idea.

Then we got on the comfy sofa in the den to watch our detective program.

Craig was there too.
