Day One Hundred and Sixty Eight

Miss Pancake

I slept in my crate nearly all night. Right beside my friend Niamh’s very big bed.

We made the other bed back into another comfy sofa so then the bedroom was so very big again. Ha.

And we watched a detective program right in Niamh’s bed. Ha.

But my friend Craig had to sleep all by himself.

Because Zita is still in far away Dublin. Too bad for him.

When Niamh and I came upstairs this morning it was a beautiful day outside.

The lady on the radio said it was spring today. But she was wrong.

Because there is still lots and lots of snow all over everywhere. Too bad for us.

But it is spring at Zita’s parent’s house. I do not know why.

I minded Niamh when she was writing another very interesting story for her university.

When Craig got up I helped him with his breakfast.

He had two more delicious Scotsman scones.

The ones from Mister Festis and Mister Furrgus’s favourite little restaurant.

They are very tasty. But they are so big I had to help him eat them.

Then I minded him in the den.

Then I had to go into the living room to mind Niamh.

Because maybe I heard something and I had to go to look out my windows. To be sure. Ha.

That is how you are a good minder dog. It is known.

But then Niamh and I had to do the homework from my for puppy’s school. Oh dear.

But sometimes I get treats. But only if I am a very good listener.

Festis and Furrgus

The party had dissolved into only our Niamh, Miss Tarryn and Miss Sach, when the three of us came home.

They, upon our appearance, felt it was safe to leave Mr. T and Miss Pancake by themselves, so they went for a head clearing dive.

Dinner tonight was a very abbreviated affair, as so much had been consumed during the extended brunch.

Fortunately there were some surplus to needs scones from Ichiban which were sufficient for all.

Considering we had just returned from dinner at the The Glebe Central we restrained ourselves.

Mrs. T is still in Ireland, but because it happens to be Mother’s Day there, she received a present from Ciara and Lucy and Mister Sully.

We had sent Cousin Morag four dozen roses from the deerhounds.

Fortunately she was amused.

They are sill encamped at the Balmoral, while she continues at her politicking.

How she gets to keep her flock of deerhounds in the hotel is beyond me.

But perhaps being a Marchioness helps, in addition to spreading money around Willy Nilly.

Now we have just heard from Lochlainn.

Apparently they had a passable tortilla soup for Sunday supper. What a wonder.

Miss Pancake

I was very very hungry after practicing my homework.

But then it was my lunchtime, so I did not starve.

Craig had two apple turnovers for his lunch.

But he did not turn them over. He put them in the quick cooking machine instead. My goodness.

But they were very tasty anyway.

Then we played rope and I won. I always win that game. Ha.

Then it was time for me to mind Niamh in the living room.

She was still writing her story.

Today Emmet is very busy at the university telling everybody all about what they discovered when reading the very very old stories.

Especially the parts that people did not want to know about.

Maybe my friend Emmet is a famous detective too. Ha.

But only about long long long time ago hidden in books secrets. Maybe.

And tomorrow they are going to do another interesting talk about all his mysterious stories.

But this time especially for some ladies at the in Cork University.

Maybe they will give him some tea. Or even tasty biscuits. If they are polite.

Before dinnertime Miss Tarryn and made a refrigerator pizza for Niamh and her.

Then Miss Emily came to visit us too.

But they were very busy talking so I stayed in the den to keep my friend Craig company.

He was listening to his book. So we were very very quiet. Ha. Good for us.

Then Niamh and I and our friends went for a downtown adventure. Ha.

There was no snow downtown.

So I could show everybody what I learned at my school yesterday. Ha.

So we could go to Sue’s just things for dogs store.

And we got the longest leash in the whole world.

And then Niamh and Tarryn and I went to the giant farm.

So I could be a run very far away dog. Ha,.

And come right back. Ha.

That is a good trick for me.

But when we got home it was muddy feet bathtub time. Oh well.

But when I got out it was time for my dinner. Ha.

We had cooked in the store chicken for dinner. And Niamh gave me a little bit.

Because I was such a good listener today. Ha.

And Craig’s hockey team won tonight.

Maybe they got treats too. Maybe.
