Day Two Hundred and Fifty Nine

Miss Pancake

I was very busy last night.

When we finished watching our detective program and I was getting ready to go to bed when all of a sudden Niamh’s friends were here.

So I had to mind them while everybody talked. Except for Craig.

He had to brush all his teeth and get ready to go to sleep.

So I stayed up to mind everybody even after Zita went to bad.

Because it is my job.

Then when Niamh and Rowan and John went downstairs I went to my comfy bed.

And this morning they got up very early too.

Because they had to drive a long way to their beside the ocean university.

That is where Rowan is learning how to build bridges that do not fall down.

That is a good thing to learn.

Then after Zita and I had our breakfast we went for a very long walk.

And we met Professor Jill and her very little dog.

It is a not so very friendly dog, so I just pretend it is not there. Ha. Too bad for it.

The air was not even a bit smelly today and it was nearly very sunny too.

When we got home Niamh was nearly ready to go to her other job at the stretching place.

So Zita and I just went to our office because we had lots of rascal ladies work to do.

When Craig got up he made Zita a very very fluffy coffee so she could talk at her meeting and not go to sleep.

I did not have any coffee so I went to sleep. I was very tired this morning.

Then when I minded Craig in the living room I fell to fast asleep right on my watching chair. Oh well.

Festis and Furrgus

When we got home from our late evening patrol imagine our surprise to find a mini party in the living room.

Somehow we were not in the loop about young Niamh’s friends stopping over on their way to resume their studies in Halifax.

Ah well. We crept in to avoid disturbing the conversations and settled in until morning patrol.

So as to continue the surprise Rowan and John were already about to leave as we were setting out.

So we wished them bon voyage and set out on our own tasks.

Which concluded at Little Victories, it being one of the few very early opening establishments near by.

While it was rather too early for doughnuts, even for us, we indulged in some extremely fresh croissants.

Nothing like a few espressos and large basket of croissants and some jam to begin the day in a proper state of mind.

As the day and the forecast looked positive we took the long way home. Past the sunken canal park.

Before returning home just in time for our restorative naps.

Miss Pancake

Zita and I were very busy this afternoon.

Because everybody wants everything right away.

Because in a few days my friend Zita is going to way far away Ireland. To see her parents.

And to go to Cork so she can visit Emmet and Alice too.

Maybe they will have their own apartment and maybe Zita could see it. Maybe.

Emmet says there are not enough apartments there. Oh my goodness.

Where will people sleep when they are tired. My goodness.

But when Zita is in far away Ireland I do not have to go to work.

So it is a vacation for me. That is a good idea.,

When Niamh came home she had a lovely bath right away.

So she would not be smelly like those nasty raccoons. That was a good idea.

And when she was as clean as could be we went in the fast car for an adventure drive. Ha.

That was a good idea.

Because then I can put my whole head out the window and smell everything everywhere.

And my ears go flappy. Ha.

We went and found Tarryn too.

So we all went to the giant park in the forest and we looked at everything everywhere. Ha.

And we saw a beaver. I had never see a beaver before.

Beavers do not live in our pond. I do not know why.

So Tarryn took our picture. In the forest.

And we found a bridge.

But it was not one of Rowan’s own bridges. Oh well.

But it did not fall down anyway. That was good.

We all had an terribly terrific time together today. Ha.

And when we got home I helped Niamh and Tarryn make the famous sauce for our pasta.

And we had a very lovely all together dinner. And everybody had more when they were finished.

Because they were not really finished. Ha.

But then everything got moved.

My comfy sofa went into our office. And the squeaky bookcase too.

And Zita and Niamh and Tarryn cleaned everything.

Because it was very dirty underneath the comfy sofa.

But then they brought that other sofa up stairs.

And when it was a comfy sofa, just like that it was not, it was a comfy bed instead. My goodness me.

So now when Zita goes to way far away Ireland I can sleep in the den with Niamh, or in the big bedroom with Craig. My goodness me.
