Miss Pancake
Because today is the day that the aeroplanes take my friend Zita to way way far away Ireland.
So there was lots of things to do. Zita had to get that fix the clothes machine.
Because she had to fix some clothes so she could have a comfortable aeroplane ride.
Then she had to do even more important errands.
When Niamh got up we had ice cream on a stick for our breakfast.
Then she lay down on the sometimes a bed sofa. In the den.
So I had a nice nap with her.
When Craig got up he had two cookies for his breakfast. Oh dear.
When Zita got home Niamh went to work in the fast car.
Then it was time for me to have my morning nap.
When Zita got home she had a present for Emmet’s new apartment.
Because you always bring lovely presents to a new home. It is our rule.
My very far away friend Poppy was always scared when an aeroplane took Zita to far far away places.
Because she thought they might get lost and Zita would not find her way back to our house.
I am not so scared.
Because I have been on two of those aeroplanes. And they did not get even a bit lost.
And I stayed in a hotel for dogs. And I had a comfy bed too.
And when I got off the very big aeroplane Zita and Niamh were there in the fast car. Ha.
But I do not like it when my family is not here. So I can mind them.
I cannot even mind Emmet and he has not even met me yet. That is not all right.

Well everything is all a bustle as Mrs. T gets ready for her Irish adventure.
We made ourselves scarce as we did not wish to get in the way, and none of us are terribly good at long farewells.
When we got back from an admittedly lingering breakfast, all was apparently under control.
They had an equipment failure at Little Victories this morning .
But we decided to wait it out, as it was Thursday and the fresh doughnuts were delivered as we sat down.
All things come to those who wait… well sometimes anyway.
As young Emmet has a new apartment Mrs. T picked up a couple of housewarming presents.
We have noted that their new digs are rather surrounded by small restaurants.
Now that was a fortuitous move I must say.
Some people have to drive kilometres to get a decent bowl of ramen, a decent Ossobuco or a fine Masala dosa.
This includes much of the highlands for instance. Such is the price of tradition.

When Zita came home she put all her clothes and all the special presents in her suitcase.
There were even some of our Mister Kettleman’s bagels.
Because she is taking bagels to Emmet.
Because there is not a delicious Bagar’s store in far away Cork. Too bad for them.
When she was all finished Mrs. Bruna drove her to the aeroport.
Where the aeroplanes are.
And she sent me a picture of her own aeroplane.
When she gets to Toronto she has to wait and wait for the very big aeroplane that goes all the way to Ireland.
Right over top of the ocean.
After she was gone Craig and I had two bagels.
Because she could not take so many bagels.
Because her suitcase was filled all the way to the top.
It was very beautiful outside this afternoon. So I had an outside nap.
My friend Craig came with me. But he did not have a nap.
We stayed outside until past my dinnertime.
Because we forgot.
My friend Zita had to eat her dinner in the aeroport. Oh dear. Too bad for her.
Tonight was Niamh’s work until late night.
So she came home to make sure Craig and I were not too sad.
But she had to leave again for a work meeting at a tasty restaurant. With lots of food from Mexico.
Her shop always has their meetings at that restaurant.
So Mister McDonald sent us a little hamburger and some not so real chips.
But they were tasty anyway.
Then we watched the football game.
But it was not Craig’s team so it did not matter. And I went to sleep.
