Day Two Hundred and Fifty Three

Miss Pancake

I had the busiest day in the whole world today. My goodness me.

Because today was the special day for my friend Niamh.

So everybody was up very very early. The same time as me. My goodness.

Even Craig too.

And Miss Tarryn was right here because she slept here last night.

And Miss Sach came here right away for her coffees too.

And then they all had to get ready.

Very fast so they would not be late.

My goodness me. And I had to help everybody not be late.

So I was very busy.

Then a truck came to take Craig and Zita to the nice university.

And then the noisy Jeep took Niamh and Tarryn and Sach and all the badgers there too.

So Lee came to my house so I could wake her up.

Because it was still very very early in the morning.

Then I sat on my watching chair and Lee sat on the comfy other chair and we looked out the window together.

Until everyone came home.

Then I was even busier. My goodness me.

Festis, Furrgus and Dugal

My goodness I had not seen such excessive energy since D-day as permeated this household today.

We three were up until the wee hours spiffing up our parade dress uniforms.

You could not expect us to let down the service regardless of the current difficulties. So it was spit and polish time.

We hitched a ride with all the young ladies in the notorious Jeep of Miss Sach’s.

So we were well and firmly established when young Niamh came across the stage to receive her sheepskin.

They had the event on enormous displays so our Niamh waved to us when she saw us standing on our chairs.

But were were slightly taken aback to find out that the degrees are now issued on paper.

Even at Cambridge of all places.

Seems a bit chintzy if you ask us.

But they slightly redeemed themselves by entering with Pipes and a drummer. Only a few mind, but the thought was there.

Dugal cursed him for not bringing his pipes. We counted the audience lucky.

We then assembled for the necessary documentation of the events.

My brother, who fancies himself a photographer ordered everyone to and fro. To no avail.

But with everyone having a camera there were stacks to choose from, let me tell you.

But I must say our Niamh could look Vogue elegant in a clown’s suit.

Even the best photos do not do her justice.

We insisted that Mrs. T and our graduate and her godmother be captured all together.

Turned out pretty well, but we did not praise him much as his photography preoccupation easily becomes a problem.

Miss Tarryn and Miss Sach were towers of strength we could not have done it without their timely assistance.

Especially the appearance of those coffees at the field house, and the conveyance to and from the university of course.

We were quite exhausted by the time we got home.

But Mrs. T supplied bagels and cream cheese which accompanied us to our afternoon nap.

Miss Pancake

Everybody came home all at once. I got so excited I had a little bit of a sick tummy. Oh dear.

But then a man came to my house and he had a bottle of champagne and a whole box of very tasty doughnuts.

Niamh’s friend in far away Boston sent them to her.

As a surprise present. My goodness me.

That was a big surprise.

Then because everybody was very hungry we had Mister Kettleman’s very tasty bagels with creamy cheese. Ha.

Craig had his in the den. So I helped him. Then I had my afternoon nap.

Because Niamh and Tarryn and Sach all had their naps too.

Graduation is very tiring. I was very tired when I got my beautiful medals.

Zita did not have a nap.

Because she had to go to the grocery store.

Because the other store sold her bad potatoes. Oh my goodness.

You cannot make delicious potatoes salad with bad potatoes. Everybody knows that. Oh my goodness.

I minded Craig. He did not have a nap.

Zita made a giant dessert and it is just lots and lots and lots of whipped cream and even more strawberries.

And they are all on top of a hard cake she cooked yesterday.

We are having lots and lots and lots and even more people for our party tonight.

So I will be very very busy. That is why I had a very nice afternoon nap.

My friends the badgers were fast asleep too. Just Craig was all awake.

Them Mrs. Bruna came over and she and Zita and Niamh and Lee and Tarryn were all making tasty things in the kitchen.

And they said that there was not enough room for me.

That was not so nice.

So I went in the living room and had another nice nap.

Craig helped me with my nap. Ha.

Then everybody came here. And there were lots of very tall boys.

And we had all the hamburgers and hotdogs in the world. And beers too. My goodness.

I stayed outside where Zita was cooking those hamburgers and sometimes I got some.

But then nearly all the boys went to watch a hockey game.

So we did not have to share the very delicious dessert. Ha.

Too bad for them.

Because everybody had noisy champagne and ice cream and the special dessert just for us. Ha.

Then I was so tired I went to sleep under the dining room table.
