Day Two Hundred and Sixty One

Miss Pancake

After our breakfast Zita and I went for our walk.

And when we got outside Mrs. Bruna was there. So she and Zita had a long talk.

And I was a very good long time waiter. Then we had a nice practise walk.

Craig was up when we got back and I helped him with his cinnamon bun.

Then Niamh came upstairs.

Because it was time to go to her lovely shop. So Zita drove her in the fast car.

I could not go because Zita had to go to the too much of everything store.

That is where she goes when she is going to somewhere far away.

To buy food so Craig will not starve. Or only eat peanut butter sandwiches.

So I stayed here.

And Craig had two round toasts with the jam from France. And I helped him eat those too.

I had a very tasty morning.

Then I had my morning nap.

Festis and Furrgus

It was another lovely morning. We opened the curtains to a delightful light breeze stirring the roses.

Dugal reminded us the it is the summer solstice so we called Tiroam to hear what is being planned for the night’s festivities.

As usual everyone will gather at the family Dolman to light the bonfire and share the solstice meal.

Apparently, we have been told on the QT, that cook is stretching her wings, and there is nary a turnip, a cabbage or black puddings on the menu.

There is hot and sour soup to warm everyone’s insides, and potato latkes with sour cream in abundance. And a couple of stone of smoked salmon.

The salmon that was apparently confiscated by Morag, from that errant fly fisherman, in lieu of a court appearance.

Desserts will be pecan pies and créme caramels by the pound.

We had to admit it is an eclectic mix of flavours, but who are we to stand in the way of cook’s newly discovered inspiration.

Though it will be a bit of a shock to the assembled I suspect.

I also suspect that Morag’s troop of dogs will be delighted.

By the time we got to Bank Street our imagination had provoked severe hunger pains which we immediately addressed at the Irene’s.

But they do not serve either latkes or smoked salmon for breakfast, which seems to me at least, a serious oversight.

So we settled for scrambled eggs and sausages. Ahh well.

Miss Pancake

I was so fast asleep and Craig had to wake me up for my own lunchtime. Oh dear.

When Zita came home she had everything.

A giant box of croissants and two boxes of ice cream too. Ha,

And she was very happy too.

Because Emmet and Doctor Alice found their very own apartment.

And it is not so very small like Emmet’s own apartment.

My goodness they will be very happy. Ha.

Maybe Zita can visit it when she visits them. That would be a good idea.

Now we have to find a very special present for Emmet’s new apartment.

Because when someone gets a new place to live sometimes they do not have lots of things.

And maybe Mister IKEA has some nice bookcases.

Because Emmet has lots and lots of very thick books.

And Doctor Alice has lots of how fix all your insides books.

Maybe they only have one tea cup or not enough comfy pillows. Or only one spoon for tea stirring.

My goodness me.

Maybe Zita can look around and see all the empty.

Then Zita went out again to find more delicious food.

This afternoon I had a little nap outside because it was not too hot for a little nap.

But then I came in and Craig put cold water in my bowl. Just in case I got too hot.

When Zita got home it was just the right time to get Niamh and Tarryn.

Because tonight is their hopping dance class.

So it was only Craig and Zita here for dinner.

And Craig had to find a new detective program.
