Niamh and I were very busy this morning drawing beautiful pictures for Miss Seej.
Then Niamh talked to her on the telephone.
When Craig was all dressed Niamh and I went for a nice walk.
But not a too far walk because the air was a bit smelly.
Then it was time for her to go to her lovely shop.
And so it was time for Craig to have his coffee and our toasts.
We had two toasts today.
Then we went outside. But just for a little while.
Because Craig said it was a bit too smelly for him.
So we went back inside and her turned on that nice air machine.
And I had to look out the window to make sure everything was all right.
Because it was only me minding the house, because all the badgers, even Dugal, went to have a nice breakfast.
But everything was all right so I had my morning nap.
Festis and Furrgus
Well there was a rather faint smell of smoke in the air when we got up.
But the forecast said that it would get worse as the day progressed.
It is my opinion, based on decades of experience, that it always gets worse.
Which is why humans invented pie, and of course scones and scotch.
Be that as it may, we thought it best to get everything under our belts before we found out if the forecast was correct.
Even Dugal had already brushed himself to a heathy gleam, so we set off on our morning inspection.
Then it was over the bridge to the Life of Pie for the Farmer’s Breakfast; three eggs, sausages, bacon, home fries, blueberry waffles and maple syrup.
Add a side order of ham and you have a breakfast.
Our regular order of assorted pies were packed as we lingered over some espressos.
We have settled on ordering an assortment, as it saves needless discussions about what pie goes the best with a 98 Cabernet.
As we trudged over the bridge we were well aware of the oncoming haze.
So it was with some relief that we regained the scrubbed atmosphere of home.
Miss Pancake had done a splendid job of holding the fort so we joined her in a post luncheon nap.
Miss Pancake
When I woke up for my second lunch the outside air was too smelly so I did not stay outside.
Anyway I had not yet finished my afternoon nap.
My friend Zita is still not home.
She is still in Dublin helping her mother and her father with their beautiful flowers.
Especially the flowers Zita got for her a very very long time ago.
But those flowers do not look so very old. Oh well.
They were so busy at Zita’s parent’s house her father had to have used doughnuts for his dessert. Too bad for him.
Maybe they do not have a new doughnuts stores in their neighbourhood. Oh dear.
Before my first dinner Craig and I played tug. Outside.
But he is not such a good player. I am a lot faster than he is.
Because he is old. Oh well.
Tonight is Niamh’s hippity hoppity dance class.
So she can not have dinner with us.
So Craig will have to make his own dinner. Maybe.
Miss Jennifer came over to visit me. Then Niamh and Tarryn were here too.
But only to get their dance clothes.
But they came back.
And then Tarryn’s Auntie Helen came for Niamh and Tarryn to help her with a computer.
So we had lots of tasty baby doughnuts.
And they were not even used one time. Ha.
That is because we have lots of brand new doughnuts stores in my neighbourhood.
