Day Two Hundred and Fifty Five

Miss Pancake

Everybody got up early today. I had to get Craig wide awake.

Because he had to get up early too.

Because a man came to look at the machines in the basement. The hot and cold machines.

And when he was here Niamh and I drove Zita to her downtown office. Craig stayed in the house.

After we left Zita I took Niamh for a lovely walk down by the other pond. I was a very good listener.

It was a nice day outside but the air was all smelly again so we did not stay for a long time.

And when we went home the man was gone, so Niamh went with the the fast car to her shop and I stayed here to mind Craig.

Because then it was a Craig and Pancake day.

Minding Craig is an easy job for me.

We looked out my window at the new beautiful flowers.

After my first lunch Craig had his next coffee and we ate the last tasty apple rolls.

Then it was time for my afternoon nap.

Furrgus and Festis

We had another late night as Young Niamh and Tarryn and Sach were making presents to take with them on their weekend trip.

They are going to visit their friends on Cape Cod. The very ones they visited last year.

This is the lady who so thoughtfully sent the Champagne and doughnuts on Niamh’s graduation day.

So they worked on the presents until quite late.

So our midnight patrol was a bit late, consequently we barely made it to Irene’s for last call. But we did.

This morning the smog was back.

So we curtailed our casual browsing of the local eateries, and went straight to the close and reliable Wild Oat for an omelet or two.

Where we took the opportunity to discuss Cousin Morag’s situation.

Now to add to the problems at Tiroam, they are in the midst of their version of a heat wave.

Thankfully the four metre thick walls keep the place cool, though still damper than might be considered comfortable to the civilized.

Dugal said that the Murdos are shaking all the appropriate trees for information to undermine that will, but it will take time, and naturally money to grease a few palms.

They also said not to even hint at Cousin Elseabeth’s involvement to them, as they really do not wish to test the disbarment waters.

Her reputation proceeds her.

She is, at the moment in the the south of France, brokering the sale of some confiscated yachts.

But has promised Dugal she will attend to the situation as soon as possible, if only to spite Morag’s father.

Which is another rock best left unturned I suspect.

Miss Pancake

My friend Craig turned on the clean the air machine so I had a very nice long nap this afternoon.

On my own comfy bed.

When I went outside the air was not smelly anymore.

Craig said the wind blew it all to somewhere far away. Too bad for them.

When Niamh got home Sach was here too. Because they still have to finish make the presents.

Zita walked home from her other office.

But she had to be very careful.

Because there was a football game way up and across the busy street tonight.

So there were lots and lots of cars that were looking for places to park. But there was not even one.

So they just drove all around.

And they did not look where they were going.

And the car catching trucks were here too. Oh dear.

When Zita got home she went downstairs right away.

So she could make Niamh’s beautiful dress as perfect as could be.

But I could not help.

Because that dress had to be on the floor and that is where I always walk.

So I had to stay upstairs with Craig.

That was not so interesting.

When everybody was back home that nice friend of Mister Tony’s brought us two giant pizzas.

Because everybody was too busy to be tonight’s cook.

And nobody wanted to only eat Craig’s peanut butter sandwiches.

So Craig watched the football game.

Poppy told me his teams do not win so very often.

He should get new teams. That is my good idea.
