I only got up a couple of times last night.
Because I am very not used to sleeping in my new T-shirt.
When we were all awake this morning, after Zita made her coffee I had my breakfast.
Because I could not eat lots and lots yesterday I was very hungry this morning.
And then Zita gave me two pills from my doctor.
And they were the kind of pills you have to take covered in peanut butter. Ha.
Then Niamh was awake too. She did not have to go to work this morning.
Because everybody is going to Mrs. Hellen’s cottage.
Mrs. Hellen owns the lovely shop where Niamh works. So it was not open today.
Because there is a sing happy birthday party at her cottage.
Because it is her very own birthday. My goodness.
Then Craig was awake too. And after his very first coffee he went to the park.
Because it is a beautiful day today so all his friends could meet each other in our park.
And not on their computers. That was a good idea.
My friend Mister Tom was there and Mister Robert too.
Then after a while Mrs. Sandra was there too. And Mister Paul.
So everybody was there. Ha.
Zita and I did not go for a nice walk today.
Because after an operation you have to be a take it easy dog. Oh dear.
So I looked out the window and then I had a very long nap.
Because I am still a bit all the time tired.
But then it was my lunchtime. I was not too tired for my lunch.
Then Craig came home because he was a little bit cooked.
So we had two together toasts. With the very delicious raspberry jam from France.
Then I helped Zita when she was on her computer.
Furrgus and Festis and Dugal
Yesterday was Bastille Day so we were absent from home for nearly the entire day.
As usual we were guests of the Embassy of France.
Say what you might about the French, they never forget a friend.
As you most certainly remember, Dugal was present at the siege of Bir Hacheim when the Free French garrison broke through the German encirclement.
It was he who fixed the truck with which that brave Nurse Travers drove General Koenig to the safety of the Allied lines.
Dugal was alway a deft hand with a motor.
Keeping his Bentleys and that notorious Alvis road worthy was nearly his full time occupation.
Before the second unpleasantries.
Anyway all members of the Legion of Honour are always invited to the local embassy for the Bastille Day festivities.
So we rummaged through the trunks until we found our various regimental dress, with the appropriate decorations of course.
Dugal’s VC always precludes any of English in attendance from asking questions about my brother and myself.
When we returned it was quite late, as we waited for the fireworks to finish.
But Miss Pancake was quite resplendent in her new medical jumper, and Mr. T was almost respectable looking after having gone, at long last, to the barbershop.
Mrs. T had kept us informed of Miss P’s day, which thankfully was without drama.
This morning we were off to Victories as Mr. T was going to the park to breakfast with his friends.
It was the perfect day for such activities I must say.
Miss Pancake
After my second lunch I was a bit distracted.
Craig says he always feels like this after coming home from a hospital.
I hope it does not distract me from my dinner.
Zita went out to do some errands this afternoon.
So Craig got me a treat and I had a nice nap in my comfy chair.
That was a good idea.
Nice naps are always a good idea, when you are a bit too tired. It is known.
There is another football game up on the busy street. And it is this afternoon.
So there are lots of cars everywhere. Oh dear.
I would not want to go on a walk when all those cars are looking for parking places.
Because then they do not watch out for people or even dogs. That is not so nice.
When Zita got home I minded her. Right beside her.
I do not want to be too far away from my family.
I did not like not being with my family when I was in the hospital.
Craig and Zita had turkey burgers tonight. Not hamburgers.
Poppy told me that turkey burgers are Uncle Bill’s favourite. My goodness. That was interesting.
After dinner it was our time to watch the detective program.
Before we go to our comfy beds.
