Day Two Hundred and Seventy Four

It was not a holiday today.

So Zita and I had to go to our office to do our work.

But we got up so early that we went to our farm for a run all around.

Because it was going to be too hot if we went later.

It was already a bit hot outside when we got up.

There were no cows outside at the farm today.

Zita said there were going to stay in their cool barns.

Because of the way too hot outside.

When we got home Craig was all awake so I went in and had a little relax with him.

Then I had to mind Niamh before she and the fast car went to her lots of beautiful things shop.

Zita and I were very busy all morning with important meetings.

I think Craig just looked out the window.

That is what you do when you are all retired.

And drink too much coffee.

And read books.

And listen to music.

That is not so exciting to me. Oh well.

Festis and Furrgus

It was rather a scorcher outside today.

So we were glad that Zita and Miss Pancake preparations for the Experimental Farm perambulation awoke us before it became too uncomfortable outside.

Then having assured ourselves that the property was intact, we headed off to Little Victories.

Due to the long weekend there had been a lull in the doughnut deliveries, so we ordered up a brace of croissants.

To accompany the second and third espressos.

But we did not linger today as we have not yet transitioned from our wool to our linen kilts.

And as fashionable as they are, wool kilts are definitely for less tropical climes than here.

While they may be just the thing for the Hindu Kush, they put one at a significant disadvantage when the temperature rises.

So we arrived home just as young Niamh was off to sell crystals to the world.

Though I must say our walk in the heat made falling to sleep for our morning nap was simply a matter of closing one’s eyes.

We decided it was too hot for an early evening patrol. So we rescheduled it until ten thirty.

Perhaps it will have cooled off sufficiently for us to contemplate a small dinner somewhere interesting.

Miss Pancake

Craig and I had two peanut butter and honey sandwiches for our together lunch.

But he nearly forgot about my lunch.

And I was so busy helping Zita I nearly forgot too.

The big comfy sofa is still in Zita’s office. Maybe that is why I nearly forgot.

But Craig remembered and after my lunch I went right back to help Zita with her meetings.

You have to be very quiet in important meetings.

So that is when I have my very nice naps. Ha.

After our work Zita had to feed that cat again.

So I minded Craig.

But this time we did not nearly forget about my dinner time.

Then I minded Craig and Zita right under the dining room table. That is an easy job for me.

When Niamh came home she brought Tarryn too.

But they had a giant pizza for their lunch at the lovely shop, and were all full up to the top.

But after dinner Zita and I sat with them in the side yard.

Craig had to find a new detective program for us to watch before our bedtime.
