Day Two Hundred and Eighty Two

Miss Pancake

When I woke up this morning I was not in trouble. That is good.

So after our breakfast Zita and I went out side and the nasty raccoons had spilled our garbage everywhere.

And Zita had to put it all back in the giant garbage cans.

And it was very smelly.

Then we went for a long practice walk.,

I tried to be a good listener. But sometimes I forgot.

And Craig was up very early this morning.

Because today Zita had to go downtown to her other office.

And it was our do not go to work Wednesday.

So she went on her old bicycle.

Because Niamh had the car. at the cottage, and she went swimming with Tara.

Before they had their breakfasts.

Oh dear. I would not like to go swimming before my breakfast.

I always have my breakfast as soon as Zita finishes her first coffee.

It was a beautiful day outside this morning.

After Zita and her bicycle were gone, Craig and I had one of Mister IKEA’s tasty cinnamon buns for our very early breakfast.

Then I had a nice nap until Mrs. Bruna came to visit us.

She had to get Zita’s little go on an aeroplane suitcase.

Because she is going to very far away Italy. On another aeroplane.

Not the aeroplane that goes to Ireland. It is a different one.

She is going to visit her family and my friend Lee is going to be there too.

But Lee fell into one of the holes they were digging and hurt her leg.

But they did not have to shoot her. That is good.

Sometimes if you break your leg they have to shoot you.

But Zita would not let them shoot my friend Craig when he broke his legs. That was a good idea.

So now Lee will be in Italy too. Then it will be time to dig interesting holes in Rome.

Maybe there will be a nice dog there to help with the hole digging. Maybe.

Maybe the holes will not be so deep there. Maybe.

Niamh did not stay at the cottage all day today.

Because she was needed at the lovely shop to sell people beautiful clothes and shiny rocks.

Furrgus and Festis

To our great surprise Mr. T was up and dressed before we went on morning patrol.

At first we were afraid he was not well, but it was only because Mrs. T had to go to her downtown office today.

And with young Niamh still at the cottage he needed to be on Pancake duty.

We bid them a jolly farewell and went off to Bridgehead for some muffins and a flagon of iced coffee.

By the time we returned Mrs. Bruna was here, discussing Italian politics, as she will be visiting her family next week, in the north of the country.

When we are there we never discuss politics. Italian politics are far far too complex and contradictory for any foreigner to truly appreciate.

And as these discussions inevitably last for hours they disastrously intrude on the other more delicious aspects of Italian life.

We received a missive from Morag detailing the list of possible architects she will be consulting about the renovations.

Lord know why she bothered sending us the list, as we are all sure it will be someone who was up at Cambridge with her.

It has started sooner than we expected.

Miss Pancake

After my lunch I had a lovely sleep. On my bed in the living room.

Craig was reading his new book. So he did not need my help.

Then we went outside for a long time and I found a bug.

But it flew away. Oh well.

Then we got hot so we went in the den and I had my afternoon nap with Craig. I was on the other sometimes a bed sofa.

After my second lunch Craig had one of his very favourite cookies.

And I licked the plate as clean as could be.

And then Miss Tara was here.

Because we are having a party tonight.

And nobody knew. My goodness.

So then Niamh was here and Kathy was here and Zita was here and I was so busy being their own kitchen helper.

And the party was not over until way past my bedtime. My goodness me.
