My friend Zita was back and now everything is the same again. Ha. That was a good idea.
I slept in my own box, and then I slept on my very comfy fluffy pillows.
And Zita and I did not even wake up until it was nearly a sleep in. My goodness.
And after we had our own breakfasts we got in our fast car and we went to my favourite farm.
And we stayed there for a long time and I ran all around.
But we stayed and the very nice sidewalks.
Because there are nasty bugs that will bite you in the grass.
So we do not go on the grass. Just the sidewalks.
When we got home Craig got up and made Zita her fluffy coffee. I always get to lick the fluffy milk spoon. Ha.
Then Zita had to go and feed that cat. It is a not very nice cat. It bit Zita. Oh dear.
But she said and could not go with her and bite it all up.
Because it is her friend’s cat. Oh well.
When she got home I had my before lunchtime nap.
Because you get a bit tired running all around, when it is a bit hot outside.
My friend Niamh and Tarryn and Sach are still in Toronto and they are going to the baseball game this afternoon.
But first they stopped and had delicious doughnuts at a very nice and very clean restaurant first.
Zita taught her that clean restaurants have clean bathrooms. That is alway a good idea.
And the doughnuts were the full of jams doughnuts. That was a good restaurant to go to.
When they got to the baseball game there was the biggest flag in the world.
And it was our own flag.
Because today is our country’s happy birthday day. That is why it is a holiday.
Happy birthday to us. Ha.
Festis and Furrgus
Well there was a general sigh of relief that met Mrs. T’s homecoming let me tell you.
She remarked on the lack of scurvy in either Craig or Miss P.
And she brought back shortbreads from Marks and Spencer’s. That was good news.
Unfortunately as they were watching television Craig received the sad news that his old friend Ric had died that morning.
While the news was not the least unexpected, it was still sad news. They had been friends for over forty years.
We always remembered him as the gentleman who made the fabulous sweets for Christmas.
His turtles were always a stellar success.
We all agreed that he will be sorely missed.
My brother phoned Tiroam to get Cook to light a few candles for him, the next time she visits a Kirk.
Now much to Miss Pancake’s relief, things here instantly returned to her expectations of normal.
She and Mrs. T were off to the Experimental Farm for their morning constitutional as we began morning patrol.
As there were thunderstorms warnings out we hurried to Little Victories to stock up on doughnuts.
I must say the pictures of our young ladies having their own doughnuts did rather inspire us.
Especially the image of young Niamh.
How could one not wish to emulate that smile. My goodness.
We hurried ourselves along, as it was Canada Day and the hordes would soon lay waste to the doughnut selection if we dallied.
Fortunately the staff had set aside a selection of our favourites so we were not forced to compromise our choices.
By the time we returned home, lunch was over and Mrs. T was doing a refrigerator inventory before grocery shopping.
We took the opportunity to start our afternoon naps.
Miss Pancake
After we had finished our lunches Zita and I went for a lovely practicing walk.
We went before it might start to rain.
And I did a very wonderful job.
Zita said I was amazing. That was true. Ha. Good for me.
Then when Zita went to do an errand I minded Craig and we watched the baseball game on the television.
Because my friends are there and I thought maybe I could see them.
But there were lots and lots of people there.
Tarryn sent me a picture but I could not see them anywhere.
And Niamh and Sach were there too.
But I do not know if they watched the game.
Maybe they just stayed where they sell the very big hot dogs.
Then we had a lots of very loud thunder at my house.
But I was not scared, because I watched the lots of rain with my friend Zita.
But then she had to go outside and take all the leaves away from the roof.
And she used our very big ladder. To get up to the roof.
Now all the water goes right down the very big drain.
Then Zita had to go and feed the nasty cat.
And when she came home we went for a nice practice walk.
We did not see any cats.
And it was not even raining anymore.
But I got a bit soggy in the puddles. Oh well.
We had our dinner early today because of Zita’s wrong clock.
And we had to find a new detective program for watching tonight.
Because our television still has the rest of the very funny detectives.
Maybe next week Craig said. Oh well.
