Day Two Hundred and Seventy Nine

Miss Pancake

We had a very little sleep in today.

We did not go to the farm today.

We went up the street right to Mister Kettleman’s bagels store, and we crossed the very busy street to see the other side.

And lots of people said hello to me. And I was very polite. Ha.

When we got home Zita talked to everybody in Ireland.

But someone ran into cousin Ciara’s car and squished it all up.

And now she needs a new one. Oh my goodness me. That is not so very good.

But she did not get even a little bit squished. That is good.

When Craig was awake Zita went to give that cat it’s breakfast.

So when Craig had his first coffee I helped him with his very big cookie.

Then my friend Niamh was all awake.

Last night I woke right up when she came home. So we played the chase me game. Ha.

Then I went back to fast asleep.

And this morning we went outside for our next coffees.

And then I could mind everyone outside.

Because it was not too hot this morning.

Then Craig and Zita put the very big wheel on the go fast chair.

So it will not get stuck in all the holes in the roads.

And they went for an adventure walk and I minded Niamh.

Then when they came home I helped Zita paint the bathroom.

I was a really big help. Zita told me so. Ha.

Then my friend Sach came to visit me.

And looked at lots and lots of different colours of paint. With Zita and Niamh. I do not know why. Oh well.

Then she and Niamh went out for a late lunchtime. At an outside restaurant. In the noisy Jeep.

Festis and Furrgus

We were awakened by Miss Pancake loudly announcing that our Niamh was sneaking in after a very late concert.

Fortunately we had no trouble going back to sleep.

So we were all well rested when we finally awoke this morning.

But we soon realized that it was time to sprint to Bank Street before the brunching hordes arrived,

So it was off to Irene’s for sausages and chips.

It was also an opportunity to discuss cousin Morag’s situation.

Dunbeath has been on the market for a while with not even a nibble say our lawyers.

Apparently finding a Scottish Bank willing to arrange a mortgage has proven most difficult.

The Blackthorn-Badger Trust having had the forethought to acquire reasonable positions in those financial institutions has helped apparently.

But the unanswered question remains. Does Morag actually want the pile?

To be sure it does not contain years of happy memories for her unfortunately.

And there are many of our properties that would suit her station.

And Aunt Elseabeth has assured her that Kinlochaline is hers for the asking.

What with Auntie now spending all her time at her cottage in Cap Ferrat it could be thought nearly abandoned.

She insists that her relocation is entirely due to her rheumatism, and the proximity of the casinos is just a happy coincidence.

Be that as it may, none of would willingly dispute her statement.

We have asked young Lochlainn for some insight into Morag’s state of mind, but he is far too discreet, which is good mind you.

But leaves us a more than a bit in the dark.

So we ordered another stack of sausages. That fixed everything.

And as it was past noon, a couple of shots of a reasonable Scotch too.

Miss Pancake

After lunch I my friend Lee sent me pictures.

From the place in Greece where they are finding beautiful things.

They have lots and lots of everywhere stones there.

That is why they have to dig holes all over to find things.

And now they have a nice dog that helps everybody dig the holes. Ha.

And it did not even have to go on aeroplane.

Because it just lives right there. In way far away Greece.

And Miss Doctor Alice sent me a picture of Emmet.

There were nasty people who wanted to stop everyone from reading some books in the library.

And only read the books they like. That is not so very nice.

So lots and lots and lots of other people told them that they were wrong.

And should mind their own business. And go somewhere very far away.

And one of them was my friend Emmet.

So my friend Emmet was being a minder for the library.

I am a very good minder too.

That is because we are related. Ha. Good for us.

Craig and Emmet have lots and lots of books.

Some have lots of pictures. Those are good books.

This afternoon Zita painted the bathroom so I just minded Craig.

When Niamh got home she got on her very fast bicycle and went to the Mahoney’s.

Because they had more extra tickets to the very loud outside concerts.

So Niamh and Tara are going together.

Maybe we will play my catch the shoe game when she gets home late at night. Maybe.

When Zita got home she brought boxes full of dinner from the busy street store.

For our tasty dinner.

And after we watched a new detective program.

And I had a nice nap too.
