Day Two Hundred and Eleven

Miss Pancake

Everybody was very awake this morning.

And it was a go to work day too.

I minded Zita until it was time for us to drive Niamh to her shop.

Yesterday when Zita was walking home she saw old old old elephants.

Elephants used to be very furry. I did not know that.

There was even a baby one. And they were nearly on the sidewalk.

But then she saw that they were not real. They were just statues. That is good.

Because one had very very big pointy horns.

This morning I minded Zita until the fast car took her downtown to her other offices.

Because of the new computer. Oh dear.

And after I had my first lunch I minded Craig while he was making Emmet’s old computer spic and span.

Computers take lots of time to be good listeners. Oh my goodness me.

So this afternoon was a Craig and Pancake afternoon.

Furrgus and Festis

Well as we came home from midnight patrol we heard that Mister Lightfoot had died.

We that was a shame as he always wrote songs with real words that told real stories.

Not many for bagpipes mind you, but you cannot have everything.

Last night’s bonfire on the heath went off perfectly, and my speech was well received I think.

At least there was not noticeable laughter. So all was well.

And not even one of the dogs got singed, though that cannot be said of some guests I heard.

Fortunately they had decent weather and did not have to douse the logs with kerosene this year.

One year father had to ignite it with one of his flare guns. How that was spectacular.

Even the Police were impressed, eventually.

We, on the other hand are in a bout of betwixt and between weather.

It makes choosing the appropriate attire a bit of a hit and miss situation I do say.

Having noticed a certain amount of pressure on our belts, we have decided to introduce ourselves to a more moderate diet.

So we only had omelettes this morning and avoided the home fries. We felt incredibly virtuous I do say.

The staff applauded us as we left. My goodness.

Miss Pancake

It was only nice outside sometimes today.

We left the side door open for a while so I could go and smell everything.

We have even more beautiful flowers in our garden.

The bunny did not eat them.

Because I was minding them. Ha.

After lunch Craig and I had a very quiet day. That computer was still very busy. All by itself. My goodness.

So I had a very nice nap until it was my second lunchtime.

Right in my very favourite watching chair.

And Craig listened to songs the man who just went to heaven wrote.

They were good songs because they were not so very loud. Those are good songs for me.

Zita did not have dinner with us.

Because she went out for dinner with Kathy Mahoney. To a very nice restaurant.

Nice restaurants always have flowers on their tables. And people bring who bring you delicious food.

You do not have to get your food through you car’s window in nice restaurants. It is known.

It is the restaurant where Mister Kirian makes some of the very tasty food.

And they have salmons at that restaurant. I have salmons in the special treats Zita makes for me. Ha.

Salmons are very tasty.

Just a little while ago Dugal and Festis and Furrgus went to a very nice restaurant.

But they ate way too much and had sore tummy’s the next day. Oh my goodness.

Maybe they ate too fast. Sometimes when I eat to fast I get sick.

And when Craig eats too fast he coughs and coughs and coughs. My goodness me.

Festis and Furrgus

By late afternoon the sun had finally appeared just in time for our dinner patrol.

And as we had been so parsimonious at breakfast we descended on The St. Rita for some of their special pizzas.

They have their own wood burning pizza oven, so you can see your pizza being cooked to your delight.

Dugal contends that cooking pizzas with wood, results in far fewer calories than any competing method.

We choose to believe him.

Miss Pancake

Zita came home before she went out to dinner. So she could get her lovely clothes.

Because you cannot go out for a nice dinner in you just all the time clothes. It is a rule in my house.

Because it was just Craig and Pancake a man brought us a hamburger.

Because we already had peanut butter sandwiches for our lunch. Ha.
